Disagree with Alam. We need a better batsman at that spot.Hmm. Sean raises a good point.

Barrington would just miss out on my personal All Time England XI, but I'd never call him a weak link.Barrington and Tyson are the weak links IMO.
I like most of the way you're thinking there - you wouldn't take Hutton over Sutcliffe though?Shaggy has it closest to my AT XI.
Barrington averages 77 at the # 3 position. I'd have him there and remove Hutton, painful as it may. He was not a # 3 batsman, and it's a stretch to have him waiting while Hobbs/Sutcliffe motor along. May in place of him.
Tyson teams up well with Trueman. Express attack essential.
12th man, I'd like Rhodes. In fact toyed with him in place of ITB for balance.
Is Saeed a better choice than Majid ?Hmm. Sean raises a good point.

I think so.Is Saeed a better choice than Majid ?
Sutcliffe and Hobbs are an established pair, in fact prob the greatest ever. I dont believe in tampering with this unless the replacement has near Bradmanesque abilities.I like most of the way you're thinking there - you wouldn't take Hutton over Sutcliffe though?
And how about Compton ahead of May or Barrington? He had that natural genius about him that could produce the near-impossible. I love those kind of players...
Asif Iqbal could probably be the perfect #6 for PAK All-time i record, very highly regarded batsmen and a more than handy record with the ball.Good team. I tried to think of what I would have different, but I think this is the best combination IMO.
Edit: Yeah Bhupinder has a point. Yousaf could be subbed in for Mushtaq Muhammad. I guess it depends on whether you think you need the extra bowling help. With Imran/Wasim/Waqar and one of Qadir/Fazal, I think we're covered in the bowling department. So Yousaf may be the better option at 6.

Yeah the trouble is when the old KCA went AWOL the link between school cricket, where most players begin learning the game, and Domestic club cricket all but died as most of the administration was too busy fighting with itself and other stakeholders in the courts, but things are looking since new management took over the national team's issues have been settled and the flow of talented young players has started to pick up again. Although ultimately if these players are to develop into the next Tikolo then they will need exposure to cricket of the highest quality.yeah, great to see a Kenyan member here who can hopefully keep us posted on how cricket's growing there. I personally feel there is a lot of natural talent there and it just has to be harnessed properly and coached properly and perhaps get more exposure.
Nah, Chemosit has been around a while. More active on blogs and other forums, mind.Is this our first Kenyan member?
Welcome to CW.
That is good to hear. Hopefully, they can do what Zimbabwe aren't doing and end up being a decent side, at least.... I think in the next couple of years at least, they should become a little more competitive, esp. in Twenty20 cricket, which seems to profit athleticism in a better way when compared to tests and even ODIs...Yeah the trouble is when the old KCA went AWOL the link between school cricket, where most players begin learning the game, and Domestic club cricket all but died as most of the administration was too busy fighting with itself and other stakeholders in the courts, but things are looking since new management took over the national team's issues have been settled and the flow of talented young players has started to pick up again.
