I asked Sambit Bal on Twitter and he confirmed that the full scorecards will be back soon.
The PEWS of websites.Thank god.
In that case I don't hate it. I don't love it either but I don't think it's terrible.
I hope that includes the wisden articles and other match reports and coverage etc.I asked Sambit Bal on Twitter and he confirmed that the full scorecards will be back soon.
The comments were mostly trolling anyway weren't they? I'd always lol at the Indians and Pakistanis insulting each others players and then people with an Indian username but clearly pretending to be Indians "admitting" that their team was crap etc. Always provided some entertainment.I've noticed that the comments are now Facebook only. I haven't read cricinfo comments for a coulee of years now but I find that a bit disappointing. The comments or sometimes just the usernames seemed to disappear on a lot of older articles when they changed the format in 14/15.
Depended on who or what it was on. There were some occasional decent threads iirc, but anything involving India or Pakistan was dire beyond belief, but often in a funny way unlike youtube comments. The comments were mostly trolling anyway weren't they? I'd always lol at the Indians and Pakistanis insulting each others players and then people with an Indian username but clearly pretending to be Indians "admitting" that their team was crap etc. Always provided some entertainment.
Maybe by making it facebook only they think they'll prevent people from trolling as much
Yeah that's a trend that has picked up a lot these days to cut down on online trolling and abuses after news sites started doing it. Taking away anonymity reduces trolling to a certain extent. Not a lot as the ESPNCcricinfo FB page is full of abuses and name calling during certain matches but I guess overall there is a reductionI've noticed that the comments are now Facebook only. I doubt that tbh. The full scorecard will be back but I don't think it will be in the same layout.I hope that includes the wisden articles and other match reports and coverage etc.
There isn't a current match yet. There is no way they are taking away ball by ball commentary. That's their bread and butter. Can't believe that there isn't ball by ball commentary any more and you only get commentary when a wicket goes down.
Going back to previous matches there is none. It used to be about 5 years before the removed the full commentary. There isn't a current match yet. There is no way they are taking away ball by ball commentary. That's their bread and butter.
ok now ask him where jono isI asked Sambit Bal on Twitter and he confirmed that the full scorecards will be back soon.
No, for some reason commentary opens on wickets only, there should be a drop down menu top left where you can select full commentary. Can't believe that there isn't ball by ball commentary any more and you only get commentary when a wicket goes down.
If the match reports are gone then it removes the thing that the cricinfo archives had over, say, CricketArchive. I quite liked reading the match reports and news.I doubt that tbh. The full scorecard will be back but I don't think it will be in the same layout.
Don't have a mobile phone so is that why I can see the full commentary? No, for some reason commentary opens on wickets only, there should be a drop down menu top left where you can select full commentary.
Edit: It's in that irritating format where it only loads a couple of overs at a time (presumably for gormless mobile phone users' benefit) rather than the old very good format of fifty over sections.
I don't think Virat Kohli will reply to me on Twitter tbhok now ask him where jono is
Can or can't?Don't have a mobile phone so is that why I can see the full commentary?
Can't.Can or can't?
I'm on a laptop, but I think the idea is to load a smaller page than a full 50 overs of commentary for mobile user's benefit (it seems ESPN is assuming that the majority of visits are from mobile phones).
This'll be a great troll if the scorecards come back but behind a paywall.I asked Sambit Bal on Twitter and he confirmed that the full scorecards will be back soon.
