Worst Player to Play 200 tests?

It's relevant as if you want to give test match status to strong teams pitted against each other, it should be given to other first class games as well.

Yeah you said that, but it's not actually a fact. It's just something you stated as one. A Test match is a Test match if ICC says it is.
Obviously but in this instance it went against the normal accepted norms of what is accepted as tests which is a tradition followed for many years. You can see Boycott make the exact same point - to scrap that match from test matches as it's not played between two countries.

If suddenly a new government decides to change laws, obviously they will be new laws but whether they were fair or should be changed in retrospect remains for later governments and people to judge.

Inzi for one would support the removal of World XI from his Test stats - that would increase his Test average from 49.6 to to 50.14

But not Sobers. His average of 40 against Australia would rise to well over 50 with ROW matches.

Guys, I’d be grateful if the thread would stay on topic please, and not be diverted into irrelevant topics. It’s unbecoming.

What about the West Indies?
That is what I've been thinking the whole time. Jamaica vs Trinidad and Tobago games should all be granted test status while Australia vs the West Indies should be considered an exhibition match.

Test matches are not played between counties. They're games officially recognised as being of the highest standard played under officially approved rules and playing conditions.

Yes that's why the 2005 World XI game was a Test and all those others weren't. Because it was planned that way long in advance, and it was actually a properly selected World XI team and playing against the genuine World no. 1 team. It's not just about "2 strong teams so it should be a Test match". That makes no sense.

The 1970-71 World XI was not only a very strong team, it had rock star appeal.
And they were promised Test status in advance and deservedly given at the time.
If Test status was subsequently removed from that team, then so too should it be of every World XI team, who I feel would struggle to beat that team much less provide the type of entertainment that they provided.

^ This.

I don't mind the World XI matches being regarded as Tests. It'd just be nice to have some consistency. There's no real reason why the WXI sides from the early 70's aren't included.

Seems obvious .

Only matches in which overhyped Australian quicks don't get thrashed count.
