World's Best XI The Day You Were Born As Per The ICC Rankings

After looking at all those teams I'm wondering what the average age of CWers is? For a sport that has the reputation for being an old farts game it seems to be rather young.
A lot of these guys were just born apparently.

Doshi (4)
Hadlee (5)

I have left the spinner Doshi out since his rating seems to have been heavily influenced by a decent home series vs. England in 1981/82 and he wasn't much chop away from Indian conditions anyway. Gavaskar also streets ahead of any other opener at the time.

What would once have been CWers from long ago never caught up to computers, instead still discuss their cricket at the pub, a la father Schearzie

John Snow (6) to come in for Bedi if two spinners is overkill.

Pretty tasty batting line up I reckon, but a bit short on the pace attack. Would be pretty nasty proposition on an dry deck though.

Not so many options for the opening position, could force one of the other batsmen to open instead of Gooch and pick Dileep Doshi (6) as a spin option. The number of awesome bowlers about is noticeable, just missing out were Lillee, Botham, Qasim, Dev, Willis.

April 82 btw

Wow we have more or less the exact same team and imo ours is the best. Great to be born in 1982

Why is Imran batting above Dujon? I know that Imran's average was a bit higher, but Dujon was still the better batsman overall.

Hadlee and Imran were actually 2 and 3 rather than 3 and 4.

Imran, Hadlee and Marshall all make all-time World XI and they were the top three bowlers when I was born, which I found awesome at first. However, it's a bit of a coincidence that my pace attack all peaked at around the same time in over century of Test cricket to the point where the way I go about rating players across history may be a tad biased towards bowlers of that area.

What a middle order Fred! But the attack is what makes it, two ATG's and the fiery pace of Hall.
Good gloveman behind the stumps too.
