World Cup Discussion

To be honest it's been a pleasure looking after South Africa so far throughout the world cup. We've proven to everyone that we are a major force to be reckoned with and are poised to take a semi-final spot and from there anything can happen. At this stage it's looking like we'll be finishing anywhere from 2-4, so the likely opponent looks like England.

We came pretty close agianst them last time so bring on the rest of the comp.

Well the Super Six stage of the WCC World Cup has been completed and we now progress to the Semi Finals... Only 3 games away from knowing who will be the Innaugural WCC World Champions...

The final round of Super Six games saw some very impressive performances once again... With controversy at the Australia vs India game with the Indian Managers failing to submit their team sheet on time...

Super Six

Monday 10 Oct

Australia vs India @ Tamil Nadu
South Africa vs West Indies @ Chittagong
Pakistan vs England @ Mumbai

Teams for Semi Finals are due in by Midnight Wednesday Sydney Time...

The Final Super Six Table can be found HERE
Make sure you check the site for injuries....

Congrats to all Semi Finalists....

I will also update the player Averages after the Semi Finals, and there will be a vote on the Player of the Tournament....

Pakistan got THUMPED by the better team in England. But with results going there way we snuck into the semi finals. A massive game against the much more fancied Australians. Hopefully we can pull some thnig out our anus's and snatch a victory. :p 8-)

The West Indies bowlers have struggled all tournament. I've felt our batsman have done a very good job, but weren't supported enough by their bowlers.

Good luck to all the teams in the semis.

Thumping victory over pakistan to end the super 6. Great batting display by Piggott and great bowling by Jones including a hatrick to end the match. As a question why was Gregson on, i noticed that he caught 2 catches towards the end but don't remember selecting him. Either way great result look forward to the match against South Africa for a spot in the final.

DAMM DAMM DAMM we were so close to pulling of the upset of the WC. We batted well we bowled well but we just let it slip in the last 10 overs.. cant belive we let there tail enders bat out the game and win it for them.

Great WC by Pakistan no one really thought we could make it this far and to challenge the aussies as much as we did it is a big congratulations to all the boys.

Disappointing end there with yet another mediocre batting performance. Will have to perform much better against Australia if we wish to take anything away from this season.
