I would say the fairest way is that if a player is replaced, the nominated replacement comes in.

2 replacements should be allowed if the player gets out of the tourney due to injury.

I personally don't think you should be allowed any subs. Otherwise, I'd have picked Jesse Ryder really early on, but I didn't because I was concerned of his injury record and thinking I'd be down to 10 if he was injured. If you've picked an injury prone player, so be it.

I presume then the replacement has to fit in with the team structure (so for example an injured Tendulkar couldn't be replaced by Prosper Utseya?)
