Sanga leading world cricketer of the year.

The five are Bresnan, Chapple, Cook, Alan Richardson and Sanga.

Genuinely surprised at that.

Alan Richardson a good one, when you consider what was expected to happen at Worcs. Was a pretty epic effort.

I had wondered about Sangakarra - it is after all supposed to be about having an impact on the cricketing summer and he certainly did have a big impact with the Colin Cowdrey lecture.

Our captain, Nick Knight, was very honest: he said he had no confidence in me. He said I'd be tenth-choice seamer if I stayed. It was hard to take, but you can't really tell a captain who has just led his side to the title that he's getting it all wrong, can you?"
well hey maybe that's why the players don't like nick kinght

I mean, I don't mind it 'cause he was honest. But if that's a typical example of how he dealt with under-performing players it probably does help explain why all england cricketers hate him

Alan Richardson; very good bowler, great bloke.

Faced him one match when he was out here playing grade a few years ago. Didn't get a bad ball in his 12 over straight spell. I was so happy to have survived... Till he knocked me over last ball of his spell haha! Did have a chat after play and he was a genuienly good bloke.

Real trier, unrelenting bowler, just reward for his continued efforts.

So they didn't view any Indian players worthy to get an award?

Surprised at 2 county players as tbh, and Sanga wining cricketer of the year.

I'm not quite sure what the period considered is, but in the last 12 months, Sanga has scored more international runs than anybody else and hit more hundreds than anyone except Virat Kohil.

Leading World Cricketer is more or less the "best" or most significant player over the last year I think.
