Who is going to be head coach? Sorry if I'm behind here
No idea so you're definitely not behind. Stuart Law said in a recent interview that the guys coming in afterwards are a safe set of hands so it seems the decision has been made but not announced.

Imlach is quite new to the scene. I am curious to see his glove skills. He's gonna have to play behind Bramble. Don't know much about his glove skills.

Good to see Imlach getting a go. He's a smart cricketer. We really need some good performances in our domestic competition to cheer us up after today. Please lord give us some options.

1) An opener
2) a middle order bat (Darren Bravo hopefully)
3) a spinner worthy of the name

An opener who can dig in, spin+pace friendly conditions.

I do hope that the lads who are gonna play the FC games next week all have that at the back of their mind. Very important.

Ideally, would have wanted to see Bhaskar Yadram in the squad. He made a half century in the trial match, and wasn't picked

So tomorrow marks the start of the most important West Indies domestic season in recent memory. The test team performed so badly on the last 2 tours that we are crying out for an opener, a middle order option and a spinner. Of course we are always on the lookout for pace options also.

This weeks fixtures are Barbados v Leeward Islands and Windward Islands v Guyana. Jamaica v Trinidad has been postponed until later. A full fixture list can be found here.

I don't care who wins as long as we get some solid options for the test team. My players to watch are:

Opening options

Keacy Carty - Solid young right handed batsman and Windies Under 19 World Cup winner. He has looked decent in his FC career so far but keeps getting injured. A break out season here would be most welcome.

John Campbell - Attacking left handed batsman, almost always gets to 20 or more, looks great, hits the ball seriously hard......and then gets out. If he can score 2 or 3 hundreds to go along with his starts he will be the number 1 candidate to replace Powell.

Middle Order

Shamarh Brooks - Not been his biggest fan because he has a touch of Hooperitus about him. He is as elegant a batsman as you will find but gets himself out. But he had an excellent A tour of England and a solid season would see him putting pressure on Ambris.

Brandon King - Hard hitting right handed batsman who had an awesome first season but struggled badly with form and injury last year. A big season would see him as an outside chance of selection.

Spinners

Rakheem Cornwall - Don't need to write much here. An outstanding cricketer who is unfortunately fat. Another quality season and a bit of weightless and he should replace Bishoo.

Gudakesh Motie - Tall left arm spinner with a good cricket brain, he has taken wickets whenever he has got the chance. Those have been limited as he has been kept out by Permaul.

Fast bowlers

Jeremiah Louis - Nippy swing bowler and solid lower order batsman, he was the standout fast bowler in last years competition.

Keon Harding - Wildcard pick as he has struggled in FC cricket until his last match. He is very fast but wild. Devon Smith said he is the fastest bowler he has faced for years after facing him last year.

Just get rid of Keiron Powell. That would be a nice start.
I agree but that would be much easier if someone put their hand up with runs this season. Prediction: someone will make runs and they will keep Powell in the team by moving him into the middle order. That is a very Courtney Browne thing to do!

Yeah. All these matches are streamed on their youtube channel. The commentary is sometimes weak though, and the graphics such as scorecard and 'bowler to batsman' are non-existent.
