That's an incredible record.

Think I might be confusing Bradman's FC record in England with his record in his first tour - in 1930 he averaged about 140 with the bat in the Test series didn't he?

I think there's a visible difference between Tait, Lee, Akhtar and pretty much any other bowler. You don't really see top-class batsmen regularly beaten for pure pace by anyone else. Picking the speedgun differences between them is pretty pointless, but there's definitely a difference between 90~mph bowlers (reached by players like Stuart Broad and Ben Hilfenhaus in certain spells) and the true express bowlers.

Not sure about that, I've seen Broad bowl balls at 150kph which have looked rapido. Hilfy's bouncer only really looks a yard or two slower than the quickest in world cricket, too.

Quite. The very suggestion Bradman would've done any miltary service is laughable.
