Will Any WC Record be Broken in this Edition of the Tournament?

Ali TT

International Vice-Captain
Yea, it’s confirmed by Cricbuzz,

“Three players scoring 100s for a team in an Innings
South Africa vs West Indies, Jo'burg, 2015
South Africa vs India, Wankhede, 2015
England vs Netherlands, Amstelveen, 2022
South Africa vs Sri Lanka, Delhi 2023*

Fastest Hundreds in ODI World Cup (by balls)
49 - Aiden Markram vs SL, Delhi, 2023
50 - Kevin O'Brien vs ENG, Bengaluru, 2011
51 - Glenn Maxwell vs SL, Sydney, 2015
52 - Ab de Villiers vs WI, Sydney 2015

- This is the first instance of three players scoring 100s for a team in an Innings in the World Cup. Overall fourth instance in ODI”
South Africa love stat padding, don't they? Perhaps they might even win something one day.

Achieved

Be surprised if not broken by someone during this world cup.
Yes, the WC is only in its first week and we see all these records being shattered.

Its why you listen to MSD.
Unfortunately for him MSD was nowhere to be found...

They are on to something, for sure.

We’ll see plenty of bowlers going for massive runs this tournament. Seems like most games teams can score over 330 plus
Depends on the venue as well.

We have had 7 matches and 10 hundreds.
In 2019 31 100s - should pass that

Conway 152
Ravindra 123
de Kock 100
van der Dussen 108
Markram 106
Malan 140
Mendis 122
Samarawickrama 108
Shafique 113
Rizwan 131

Ric Finlay - Last night's match was only the third in 4665 ODIs where both teams had two centuries.

These batting records being broken aren’t surprising at all. Seems like most teams have been scoring 350 plus the last few months for fun. Plus most teams have a loaded battling line up

A look at the list of blokes with the most WC hundreds is fascinating:

Punter scored five, from 42 innings.
Sangakkara also made five, and his came in just 35 innings.
Tendulkar topped them both with six, which he scored across 44 innings.
Sharma has just hit his seventh. He has played 19 innings.

I think Sharma made 5 in the 2019 WC in 9 innings
