Simon Taufel should umpire from both ends and have the inadequate bunch of Ice-Cream salesman masquerading as umpires stand at square-leg on a rota basis in the hope they might learn something.

Taufell by a fair distance imo. Dar & Buchnor (who's been quite good this year actually) are the best of the rest

Simon Taufel is by far and away the best umpire in the ICC Elite Panel. IMO its not close.

I'm completely agree with everybody here. Simon Taufel is an incredible umpire. Cricket is one of the hardest sports to umpire in, and yet he gets so many decisions correct. Absolutely nobody is close to him.

If I had to pick a second umpire I'd pick Steve Bucknor personally. He gets a few ones wrong, but I think he's a fine umpire. He's as good as I once expected umpires to be before Taufel.

RIGHT NOW! MAKE THIS A SIMON TAUFEL THREAD!

Oh and Billy Bowden is one of the worst umpires I have ever seen. He should have been fired a long, long time ago. Aweful, aweful umpire!

Taufel the clear number 1. After him it'd be Dar or Bucknor. Bucknor's been really good in the last couple of series I've seen him in, and seems to be back to his old form.

Bucknor's still subject to making the occasional howler. Taufel makes mistakes but you can always see why he made that decision. All other umpires make the exceptable mistakes but also real howlers which shouldn't happen at this level.

Taufel is far and away better than everybody else. The annoying thing is that I don't get to watch him too much because he can't officiate Australian matches, so it's only when I get the chance to watch Fox Sports at the airport or at my friend's place that I have the chance to watch him.
