Who will be Real Madrids next big signing?

CartyDurham

International Captain
Seems farcical if true. 2004 was about the peak of my football fandom, and Wiltord was past his best even then (and was never remarkable in the first place).
My memory is fading but was he part of the French team that won the World Cup and Euros at the turn of the century , then got to another World Cup final when zidane head butted an Italian in the game ?

A little bit of research says that he never garnered enough votes in either the FIFA WPOY or Ballon d'Or to rank on a top 10 - he was shortlisted for the Ballon d'Or in 2002 (which was his best season with Arsenal) but received no votes.

Real crackpot stuff imo. Wiltord was never even close the best (or even the second best) in any of the multiple positions he played in Arsenal, let alone in the world.
