A better comparison would be Herath vs MacGill, both losing a massive chunk of their careers to presence of Murali / Warne in the team. Averages very similar too.

Wouldn't be a good comparison tbh. Herath who averaged 40 away from home. And played 3/4 of his games in Asia.

Probably worth mentioning Herath's average of 48 against India as well, being the most spin-competent side he played, though not to the same extent in the 2010s, when he also played in much friendlier conditions.

Herath was very good in his home conditions for a few years tbf, but his success is built almost entirely upon bullying SENA teams touring SL on doctored wickets

Both Warne and MacGill averaging trash in Australia against India also shows those pitches were doctored not to spin.

Bowling spin against India in Sri Lanka vs bowling spin against India in Australia doesn't really seem like a fair comparison to me.

If someone had to bowl spin against India in any country in the world they'd probably pick Sri Lanka tbh.

Bowling spin against SL in SL compares I suppose. MacGill still was trash,

Herath averaged 45 at home against India .
Migara saying something that blatantly isn't true? I'm shocked. Does this a lot, but I suppose realising you're wrong requires self-reflection, which in turn requires intelligence and modesty, both of which he is rather short on.*
*and yes, I realise how pompous this sounds
