I think it has been obvious for a while the captaincy will be handed over to the MI trio from ex MI captain. I think its a decent move too, if we are not gonna have Rohit, Virat and Jadeja play white ball cricket esp. Honestly, except Jadeja in red ball, I think its time to move on from the seniors.

Bumrah has missed just 2 tests out of the last 17 tests India has played. (and one of them was a dead rubber against NZ)

So people have to be delusional to keep believing something that is currently not true.

Yeah, maybe his body has just grown used to the strain of Test cricket. Maybe he has a method figured out which keeps him on the park. He must have, to be as good as he is.

Why not. He is the only player confirmed in the side for the future. Build a new Team India around him, giving him all the time and support he needs.

I don't see a need to rush it. Bumrah for a couple of years whilst you groom Jaiswal (give him the VC by all means) might be fine.

"Reports" know who is the backup captain but don't know if first choice captain will be dropped or not. Very reliable.
