Think Bailey was a bit too sharp. From earlier days Sussex had a guy called Parks who was a top order batsmen but took a **** load of fc wkts with inswingers and cutters. From the same era India's CK Nayudu could wibble like Rolf Harris' wobble board. One of India's finest players in their early years his reputation remains untarnished to this day.

If talking only of test cricket, in terms of averages I think Cronje and Dougie Walters are the two best, both getting wickets at under 30.

I liked Jeremy Coney's style, hooped things miles, always looked like he was bowling with a two-piece. To go for an obscure one, didn't Gary Cosier get a 5-for in a one-dayer somewhere?

Guy Whittall was a good call - one of the few Zimbos to enjoy the May test matches in England.
