I mean, it is pretty intelligent to preserve your legacy like that. We stats quibblers on here are the only ones it really bugs, it worked out very well for him in the overall cricket community.

I rarely saw Steyn outsmart a batsmen. More overwhelm them with swing.
Variation/length selection, especially of when to mix in the short ball.

I know it's not as ***y as hitting the perfect off cutter after a few outswingers, but it's bowling intelligence nonetheless.

I get that. I associate that level of bowling intelligence with most great pacers.
