That's like saying Sehwag is a better test batsman than Kohli because he averages more. Bumrah has played in a far more batting friendly era, had arguably the best season by any bowler ever in 2024, been great in all 3 phases of the game (pp, middle overs and death), also has a motm in an IPL final.
Bumrah's adjusted numbers are much better than Malinga or any other bowler.

Malinga's peak years were like 2005-2007. Genuine express bowler that hooped it. Hurt himself after that and came back pretty significantly slower and more or less gave up the longer forms of the game.
