who is the best hitter??????

To be honest i would have to say that the biggest hitter in world cricket is me. For the uneducated, when i get to the crease there isnt a boundary big enough or bowler good enough to contain me. I once smashed a ball straight back over the bowlers head over the boundary fence, over the two story grandstand landing on the roof of the curry hut two blocks away. Truely was a mighty wallop although i must admit i didnt time it as well as i could have.

And a word to the wise you're not going to start. Regarding drug references, cop it on the chin.

To give an example naseem hamed weighs 112llb and could knock out anyone on this forum. It's all about how you use your weight. I boxed for a couple of years with some guys who weigh slightly more than naseem hamed but i would not like to have fought them, even though im 6ft and 170llbs. You never know.

Except for you who is just mindlessly naming Aussies.
I think I only mentioned 3 Gilchrist, Symonds and Ponting...

unless you know nothing about cricket at all and I know you don't then you really should not have any objections to those three name's being mentioned..

I could easly have mentioned Hayden as well.. Even M. Clarke, Damien Martyn are good strikers of the ball.

I wish people would stop coming out with the patently untrue "size doesn't matter" crap. Naseem Hamed would get annihilated by someone more than a stone heavier with the same conditioning. As for the comment earlier that Afridi is stronger than Flintoff what's that based on exactly?

Could be coz one of the commentators mentioning that Afridi has a very strong handshake or he is afghani and his diet contains lotta red meat which gives iron OR just the fact that Afghanis are very strong in general

dont judge somone by there looks..

The make up of somone's muscles ie are they mainly fast twitch or slow twitch muscle fibers can make a big diffrence to how strong they are..

ever seen somone who looks really thin and week yet they supprise they heck out of you with there strength ? it can be the other way around to.

well i havnt seen freddie up close in action but i've seen afridi.....and he is one of those who punch above their class.......that much i can tell.

As per 'someone with same conditioning but more weight' will annihilate one with lesser weight........its bull.
In cricketing terms, weight is akin to having a very good practice swing before you actually face the bowler.......ie, irrelevant.
you have to use your brain and KNOW how to fight........
besides, pure muscle weight does not correspond to strength.....if it did, the most muscular man on tihs planet would also be the strongest.......or atleast, more muscular = more strengh.....but thats not true.
I am 155 pounds myself and i've come out better in fights with people over 100 pounds heavier than me but same build.......put simply, if i fake a punch, take a punch and then clock you in the balls, i dont care if you are shaquille O'neil, you are going down. Same with takedowns.......doesnt matter how strong you are...if i grab your arm at the right place and toss you over my shoulder a few times, you are a sitting duck.
The best streetfighters i've seen are the 5'10-6 feet lean types with a thickish build and low Center of Gravity.
ie, someone with the same build as Ramnaresh Sarwan but a few inches taller.

What i am trying to prove is being big is a major factor in cricket"As you can See most of the cricketer's that are talented and can hit the ball hard is Big And tall'And that is the reason i go to GYM every day' because i want to get big and muscler"

being big is a big factor in cricket only if you are aiming to be a fast bowler.
If batting is your forte, forget the weightlifting......work on your stamina and reflexes.....incase you've forgotten, most alltime great batsmen ( bradman, gavaskar, tendy, lara, steve waugh, etc) are little men......for when you are a batsman, power takes a backseat to timing and a quick eye.

Ill tell you right now, put me in a hitting competition with Afridi, Flintoff and whoever else you like and i would win every time. They might fluke one or two every once in a while but in the long run i would consistently hit further than any of them. The only man who would have ever been worthy of comparison to me would be the master blaster himself, Sir I V A Richards. Even he though would have struggled to consistantly hit the ball as far as i do.

I dont think guy's like Sehwag, Jaya, Ganguly and a few aother are really that great at hitting the quick bowlers
Razzaq is perhaps the best slaughterer of quickies I have ever watched. On second thoughts though, Jayasuria in his prime was better.
