Who had better technique among Rahul Dravid and Jacques Kallis

Kallis has the best overall technique. Dravid was a bit lead-handed against spinners and occasionally cramped against bouncy pacers. Amla was fantastic against spin but often got stuck in the pads against pacers.

great. Can you say what lead handed means… sorry i do not no it
Yes Dravid wasn’t much comfortable against Bounce and Pace, but was a excellent player of swing bowling

Dravid was a fantastic player of swing, the best of his generation; while he had some trouble dealing in bouncy tracks. Kallis is almost the exact the opposite, had issues with swing and was solid against bounce, but both to lesser extremes. I would say Kallis probably slightly ahead against spinners; but overall technically, there isn't too much to separate them.

I guess Kallis was even better than Tendulkar in playing spin. Kallis averages 58 in India and 83 in Pakisthan. Of Course he is not much revered for his performance in Sri Lanka. Still averaging such high in sub continent conditions by a batsmen from SENA conditions is something to be applauded

Definitely he was very good player of spin; and he did against Kumble and Harbhajan in India and Kaneria and co in Pakistan; but he doesn't have much of a great record against Murali and Warne, the two leading spinners back then. The truth is he mostly toured during flat track era against not so great spinners, especially in Pakistan.

PlayerComparisons

International Regular
Dravid is pretty overrated against lateral movement. Only good against it on slow low pitches with no pace or bounce. He was kind of a spin and medium pace specialist but still definitely an ATG.

Even Today batting well for a SENA batsman in the Indian Subcontinent is considered great. So doing it in the 2000s was even higher. India had better spinners then than today (not by a huge margin though) Kumble - Harbajan duo was better than Ashwin - Jadeja..
and Kaneria definitely was better than any current Pakisthan spinners including Yasir Shah.
Forgot to mention that Kallis also had to face Mushtaq who is definitely a league above an average or above average spinner
Still despite being flat, the subcontinent wickets had the dustbowl or mine field effect.. which is the testament for the SENA Batsmen and Kallis has succeeded in that.
I guess the batting friendly era began somewhere in the mid 2000s…. early 2000s definitely weren’t flat era

Also the answer is Kallis

Dravid against swing >>> Kallis against swing

Kallis against spin > Dravid against spin

Kallis against bounce >>>> Dravid against bounce

overall, I'd say Kallis.
