Don’t get me wrong. Australia are a good team, but they’re more and more beatable every year. Meanwhile comparatively to our own history, our Test team is probably close to as good as it has ever been.

India are the real team to beat in home conditions. SA have won in Australia thrice over the last decade, with England and India also doing it. There's been plenty of entertainment and competitive cricket for Burgey to enjoy.

Also, if anyone doubted Smith and Warner it was the Australians. I recall someone suggesting Smith shouldn't be integrated into the side straight away, that he might be too slow. People were saying Warner shouldn't break up the opening combo. Laughable in retrospect.

Some of our Australian posters have been making terrible calls.

I’ve seen all of these, and some of them were opinions held by the majority:

1) Should Smith and Warner walk into the side?
2) Warner should bat 4
3) Drop Finch
4) Dorf is a park cricketer (proceeds to bag 5)
5) Warner’s done, shouldn’t have broken the Khawaja Smarsh combo (after 1 failure against India)

Anyone else think its stupid if say England and Sri Lanka finish on 10 points each, matches won is the first factor so SL having 2 no results gave them less opportunities and England woukd be rated ahead regardless of NRR.

The only way NZ can miss the semi's if they lose both games (11 pts) and all of:

India win 2 of last 4 games (13 pts)
SL win all last 3 games (12 pts)
Eng win last 2 games (12 pts)

As SL and Eng must both beat India, this pretty much comes down to if WI beat India tonight then NZ is locked into semi's as they have higher NRR than India
