Which ridiculous Bazball win is the best?

Tom Hartley’s 7fer a bit harshly overlooked here. It was still a chaseable target. Plus Pope’s innings was pure Bazball

Do kind of agree with your point nonetheless tbf
We were 5 down at the point India were going to have to bat again in the 2nd innings. Pope scored 196 from 278 balls, it wasn't a stupid strike rate, it was just a damn good innings. Any team could've done that, but I don't believe any team could've won these two games in Pakistan, proper Bazball heists!!

It's Multan 24 in my opinion and i have very good reasons that made me choose Multan 24 over Pindi' 22 :

1 - England lost the toss in Multan but in Rawlpindi they batted first , it's much harder to dictate the match when you field first in the heat, especially when opposition has you in the field for 150 overs.

2.England had a much better/experienced bowling attack in Rawalpindi compared to Multan ..
In Rawalpindi England had Anderson, Robinson and Stokes , Leach played both tests and Will Jacks despite being the worst bowler reputation wise took 6 wickets in the match..

In Multan England had to deal with a host of injuries which lead to an attack that many claimed was the weakest attack they have seen in a while, many England fans made fun of Carse before the match , Woakes away record has been well published, Atkinson on his first away tour and Bashir a novice spinner , also Pakistan's Multan bowling attack on reputation is a bit better than Zahid Mahmood , Mohammad Ali , Haris Rauf who played in Rawalpindi 22'.

3.A World Record in Multan
First time in Test history, a side lost a test match by an innings despite scoring 500+
That's something significant for Bazball

4.A Triple hundred scored
A lot of people didnt think it would be possible for someone like Brook to score a triple hundred playing the Bazball way but he did , a lot criticism has been made on the team for throwing away big scores but he made it count.

Whatever it takes!!!
I'd probably go Rawalpindi. England scored 921 runs in 136 overs (6.78), days were reduced due to lack of light, they got the job done with about 40 mins to spare. That was a game that no team should've won. You can argue that this was similar, but we knew already that this Pakistan team had a 3rd innings collapse in them if the pressure was applied and so it proved.
Agree with this. When people were looking up the highest scores to lose by an innings, half of them were minnows and the other half were England optimistically putting up 400 in India in recent years.

If India were touring Pakistan they might have done this one too. And while Hyderabad was the most against-the-odds and arguably the coolest, it was an individual performance that won it. I don't think another side would have been able to do the Rawalpindi one, so for me that's the real Bazterpiece.
These arguments have swayed me. I think I was a bit caught up in the moment. They were all amazing wins obviously and each has its strong point. But as an overall game, I feel this one was one that they had no business winning but were also generously helped out by Pak being ****. The Rawalpindi game Pak actually played pretty well themselves but were still beaten.

****.. I will make a bad judge or jury member. This one has swayed me again almost to the side of Multan.

But to me, the main thing is that Pak played far better in Pindi and still Eng found a way to win. Personally, find that more impressive.

I would say hyderabad it came against atg side at their own home where there have lost just 3 in last 50 tests and also england were 200 behind with losing 5 wickets before Crossing deficit for me imo peak bazball win
That was a great win but felt more arsey than the other ones imo. Some big slices of luck for Pope especially.

The Rawalpindi one was crazy. Impossible to get a result out of it considering the circumstances.

I have complain regarding this "luck" thing though. Almost all such great fast scoring innings from jaws of certain defeat, be it Stokes, Botham or Lara; included them being plenty lucky and giving chances. That Pope innings is legitimately ATG imo. It should never had happened.

The Rawalpindi test required nothing of the sort. The deck was stacked as far as humanly possible against them getting a result .

I think the Hyderabad heist was the greatest because they really wouldn’t have been expected to win that. Even when Pakistan scored 550 here, I still had England as favourites to win.

It took good cricket to win in Hyderabad, but it wasn't Bazball cricket. Any team could've done what happened there, but Rawalpindi and Multan were entirely different beasts.

the edgbaston test v India just because of the quality of the bowling. Root and YJB slapped Bumrah, Shami, Siraj and Jadeja around like they were a village attack.

If we take Bazball to mean having supreme confidence in the players on the field to do their thing, then Hartley’s second innings in Hyderabad is well up there with the most Bazball things ever, it would have been so easy to take him out of the attack after he was getting carted

Whether it’s recency bias or not, I don’t know, but this win deserves a lot of credit considering the most ‘proven’ seamer in the team was Chris Woakes
