Zero. Answer me this question, what does that have to do with your initial post or wi greatness from 80-95? Up until 1997, WI hadn't lost in Asia either. And using SL is rich, considering wi only started playing them (away) when wi was already in terminal decline.Answer me a simple question ; How many test series have WI won in Asia since 1983 against IND, PAK or SL ?
FTR I do consider WI of 1980-94 an ATG side along with AUS 1999-2007.
You made a point that India beat a weakened AUS side . My response is that even an ATG side like WI beat a very weakened IND side . IND side of 80s were so bad that they couldn't even beat SL of 80s in SL . So when you accuse IND of beating a very weak side then please also accept that WI of 80s also beat a very weak IND side.Zero. That is not an acceptable response. We've already had this conversation. If Slifer makes a point, you don't respond by going on a tangent about Windies just cause he supports that team. My point is it is very difficult for an Asian side to beat a very good non- Asian side in their home conditions and vice-versa . Can you please tell me atleast 3 test series won by a non-Asian side in Asia or Asian side outside Asia when home side was ranked in top 2 .That is not an acceptable response. Then just say this, without adding the tangents. It's a perfectly reasonable point. Yet, Slifer's original point is not rendered incorrect by it.My point is it is very difficult for an Asian side to beat a very good non- Asian side in their home conditions and vice-versa . I agree that you did not suggest that these Indian sides were great sides.I am sorry . When i created this thread nowhere did i say these Indian sides were great or something . Just wanted a simple discussion.
He probably is/was the 2nd greatest.Don't worry we won't declare this side 2nd greatest or something like you tried to declare Steve sandpaper smith 2nd greatest after Bradman for averaging 75 in AUS.
Ishant of 2010-2015 was ordinary but Ishant of 2007-08 was ATG stuff, it was like watching Mcgrath bowling at 145 kph. The reason why he managed to play 90 tests was because of that 07-08 series.
Ishant was also man of the series when AUS toured IND in 2008. First Indian pacer after Kapil in 1983 to win player of the series award. So it was not just one spell.
This is the problem when India beat Australa's third XI. Inane chatter about their players, everywhere you look on every single cricket site or social media site.I guess most have forgotten how good Ishant was in 2007-08. ]
I can't see no reason why Steven Smith is 2nd greatest of all time.He probably is/was the 2nd greatest.
Most certainly better than Tendulkar.
This third XI bullshit is almost as bad as sunilz original trolling. This is the problem when India beat Australa's third XI.
It's always difficult to beat a very good side at home isn't it, whether they're Asian, non-Asian of Calathumpian? Whether the side India just beat constitutes a very good one is pretty debatable. Certainly decent bowlers, but the batting was unproven at best and rank awful at worst. My point is it is very difficult for an Asian side to beat a very good non- Asian side in their home conditions and vice-versa . ****, I can't believe anyone would put energy into posting this.I can't see no reason why Steven Smith is 2nd greatest of all time.
If he was playing in the late 80s he would trespass into Pakistani dressing room and steal all bottle caps or whatever he finds. And when the match starts, Wasim/Imran/Waqar will have all question marks on their faces on seeing the empty stash with Steven Smith smirking at them from the crease and Mcdermott/Hughes figuring out the effective way to scratch the ball in Aus dressing room.
