The worst decision made by Virat Kohli as a captain was in 2017 CT final. You don't choose to bat 2nd in high pressure final . I feel in limited overs Rohit sharma is better captain.

Don't think he is a very good captain; quite a few of his selection decisions have been appalling.

However, there's one thing going for him: he isn't - or at least hasn't been exposed as - a cheat. A very big deal, these days.

Selection decisions very dodgy at times, but part of that is because we haven't had this kind of bench strength in a while, especially in Tests, IMO.

Can't find a great deal to fault about his on-field captaincy. A big part of captaincy is just commanding teammates' respect and leading by example, so he's got that part covered pretty well.

How are we evaluating the greatness of Asian captains? Going off records is kind of unfair to the captains of the earlier era, back when these nations were new and establishing themselves, and it's hard to gauge how good a captain is tactically before the modern era.

If we're rate captains based on longevity and how much power and influence they had during their tenure, then Kohli is on the right track. Got the job fairly young, has had some big moments of success, is a lock in the side for the next decade or so.

he is going pretty well and at this rate might well become the greatest asian skipper. As mentioned his team selection sucks but he seems to be a great man manager which imo is the most important skill of being a captain. Winning in Aus definitely a big big feather in his cap but other indian captains had to face ATG Aus sides ended up with ties.

Virat faced a much weaker Aus and had a very good bowling attack at his disposal compared to earlier indian teams. Needs more time to rank him appropriately

too early to judge - but currently he's way behind Imran and Ganguly in test cricket, and also Dhoni and Ranatunga in ODIs

I'm not bringing pre-90s captains into discussion as I didn't watch them live
