Can't say I'd be overly keen to reduce it to a 40 over match, or 4x25 over innings as has been suggested. The 2 innings thing would just turn it into an extended T20, and would ruin one of the best facets of the current format, having batsmen actually have to build an innings.
if there is one point that should be made clear re: 25 over splits is that teams WILL NOT HAVE 2 SETS OF 10 WICKETS. as a team you will still only have 10 wickets as per normal.. for those who complain about this new format will interrupt the batsmen and bowlers innings .. they have obviously forgotten that a test match has many interruptions ..lunch.. tea.. and end of play (5 days) many not out batsmen have had the innings interrupted throughout these points and have gone on to score plenty regardless... this argument does not wash...

Stopping to have lunch and stopping to field and bowl aren't the same thing in terms of interrupting your innings.

Indeed. I'd be freaking annoyed if I ended the first 25 overs on 60 or 70* and then injured myself in the next 25 overs of fielding and couldn't bat again.

Would be a fairly rare occurence though. Not often you see someone get injured enough in the field to stop them batting, especially in the space of 25 overs.

maybe look at it as a true to test of skill and ability. a part of the game that hasn't been explored so it's hard to assume what exactly teams and individuals will do under the format.

One day cricket is gone as a sport, it they try to change the rules it wont be a one dayer at all, its all going to be about 20/20 for most teams, and only the top nations will end up playing tests.
