Coulthard- well where to begin, i doubt hes ever going to win an F1 WC now. He looks like leaving McLaren next season, which is a real shame. But he is now number 6 or so on the all time F1 points tally and by far the most successful driver never to win the Championship.
He's not good enough to win the world title. He has had the best machinery so often and ever year he doesn't put a title challenge together lasting past June.

And don't get me started on crashing into Pitlane Walls...

Sachin Tendulkar and Diego Maradona.
Just picture them!
Sorry, that doesn't work. It doesn't even work if you compare Warney to Maradona "Come here, Diego, dear. Whenever I'm poorly, I always stick some of this up my nose." Close, but no straw sorry, cigar.

Did anyone listen to TMS during the second test last week? At lunchtime they had an interview with Peter Beardsley, and I didn't understand much of what he said (as always) but he said he wasn't bitter about the 'hand of god' and he doesn't blame Maradona. In fact he said it was a shame that overshadowed the fact that he was one of the best footballers of alltime. To be fair, if you saw the other goal it's hard to disagree.

Unfortunately all I remember of Maradona is the drugs ban, the comeback at USA '94, and the next drugs ban!

There's never been any dispute about his sporting prowess. He was certainly one of the greatest players ever, and if this thread was 'Who are the greatest players blah blah', his inclusion would pass without comment. However, it was 'Sporting ideals'.

Interesting you spoke about Beardsley. I think the interview went something like :

<TMS> What about THAT goal, Peter?
<PB> mumble mumble obviously waffle er mumble obviously handball er waffle obviously mumble.

He's a star. DD just might do a guest interview with him some time.

Hey he's not really a drug cheat. He was just a drug addict
That's not so bad.. ok it is, but he's still the best football player ever. Sorry Pele.

It's just the Brits who can't get over Diego, and I love it :D

Sachin and Maradona are so different in their behaviour and attitude to life. But each really is a genius in his respective sport.
And they resemble a bit.
