Watching the West Indians:

Yesterday Daren Ganga scored a solid 93 before being trapped LBW by Marlon Samuels. Tishan Maraj struggled for 31 runs as the next highest Trinidadian score. Today, Denesh Ramdin is approaching a century, unbeaten on 88 at the moment.

Trying to get score updates of the Barbados v Windwards game, but yesterday Dwayne Smith was out for 13, and today Rawl Lewis has troubled the Bajan middle order.

Can't say for sure. It's extremely hard to get scores from West Indies regional cricket until several hours after stumps. What I can so thus far is that Ramdin struck a lovely 120odd, Gareth Breese took 5 wickets, Rawl Lewis took 6 wickets, Alcindo Holder blazed a quickfire 84, and Devon Smith got someone out.

Marlon Samuels batted beautifully for 63 off 75 balls as he dominated the Jamaican innings, before he was surprised by a sharp short ball from Bravo and was brilliantly caught behind by a diving Ramdin. The score was 84/2 when he fell, showing how much of an impact he had.

I heard Sammy was bowling well this morning, but I don't know what kind of payoff he got. He got smacked about a bit by Holder in the afternoon though.

Not gone into the matches till now.

But hae to say was surprised/shocked seeing Dillon was dropped despite a good performance in the earlier match.

Reyad Emrit appears to be part of the future of Trinidad and Tobago cricket and Richard Kelly is potentially our version of Lance Klusener. Very exciting talent. No room for Dillon right at this moment.

Quite amazing that a player of Dillon's callibre after this match http://ind.cricinfo.com/db/ARCHIVE/2005-06/WI_LOCAL/CARIB/SCORECARDS/LWD_T+T_CARIB_02-05DEC2005.html finds himself out of the side.

Ganga has said that Dillon will bounce back and hopefullly he will.

What does he bowl?

I can't understand why Ganga didn't enforce the follow-on though. It would've made victory even more likely. If not for Kelly, it could have backfired horribly.

Richard Kelly looks the stuff this season. He was outstanding as a bowling allrounder in his debut efforts last year, but now he's really pushing along with the bat. A big hitting allrounder. I'd earmark him for WC 2007.

The Windwards closed the at 180/3 in reply to Barbados' 365 all out. Devon Smith scored 55 and Craig Emmanuel got to 51 not out. Smith was dropped on 34 and Barbados dropped at least six chances.

I haven't seen Smith's bowling, but I'd suggest that he's not very good, as he hasn't really done much to develop it. He bowls about as often as Dwayne Smith doesn't get himself out.

Those are his first 2 FC innings too, so it's a bright start career-wise for the young man.

Shockingly suicidal strokeplay by the Jamaicans, but brilliant bowling by Emrit set the tone early on.

Jamaica 2nd 89 ao
Carlton Baugh jr. 39
Wavell Hinds - some low score - bowled legstump by Emrit
Marlon Samuels 10 - bowled middle stump by Emrit
Dave Bernard jr. 2
Gareth Breese 0
Dave Mohammed 14.2-4-41-5 - 9 in the match
Reyad Emrit 10-4-13-3
Sanjiv Gooljar (on debut) 4-1-8-2

Trinidad and Tobago won by 283 runs.

Only brief highlights. From all reports, neither he nor Jermaine Lawson were particularly impressive. They didn't make the batsmen play often enough.

These things happen. It's easy to lose the intensity when you go from entertaining a stadium full of hardcore Aussie cricket-lovers to playing in front of a couple hundred people on a University ground.

I've no doubt he'll click again soon.

To whom? lol

I agree, he should be pressing on and dominating the domestic circuit after his performances down under, but its already clear that he's got what it takes. Form is temporary...
