WCC Improvements

Ok, we are trying to find ways to get the interest up again...
The forum has been very quiet and a few managers(not naming names) have been posting their teams and that is it....

Any suggestions from you will be looked at...

We have 1 suggestion which came from Nibblet's interview which is being looked into for next season...

So if you have an idea which could increase the interest of the forum or the WCC then let them be known and we will look into them....

If at any stage this thread is turning into a slanging match then it will be closed.....

SO BE NICE AND LISTEN TO THE SUGGESTIONS....

Well I'll kick this off on behalf of the Board.. It has been suggested by a few people (not just Board members) that weekly reports are forced, and heavy punishments (3 not done and yours sacked) were mentioned.

Opinions?

thats not a bit harsh thats alot harsh

there are ups and downs but this is just a down

if the season was a bit shorter maybe we all like the season thats why we are here but some people like a bit of a break and if your team has gone(rich expression) pants then you want to start again

according to blewy when everyone wanted to trade during the season he would have to update the sim every week
yes/no?

Just to clear that up, the Forced report idea is just that, AN IDEA!!!

The season was going to be alot shorter but people wanted home and away matches therefore the seasons length doubled...

And as for the mid season trades, at this stage it can't be done due to the VC4 not being able to read the old DB once it has been changed therefore you lose all the averages...

If i could find a way to overcome this then i would gladly endorse this but unless we get a sim that allows this and runs similar to VC4 (Without the bugs) then it can't happen....

If I'd been able to attend that meeting, I certainly wouldn't have voted in favour! Forcing people to do something that is incidental is a bit tough IMO.

I think it's about the right length now - anything else would be too short and players would age too quickly!

Could this be overcome by dedicated record keeping - if so, I think I may have an answer.

nothing was set in stone cause only 3 board members were there and of course that aint a majority. So everything is staying the same atm.

as for the mid season trading, i have an idea which i will raise will raise with blewy, it isnt trading but its something similar which can be done.

Trading at various points would be nice, season is probably a little to long, maybe OD games should be double headers - i think that idea was thrown around before??

i am keen and have spoken to blewy, regarding vb cup instead of it being a knockout, itw ill be run in a world cup style fashion midweek .teams get a rating and then split into 4 or 5 groups with weekly games on wednesday etc.

what does everyone think

Can see the good and bad sides of that Bugs - the main problem would be the pressure on simmers.

The main thing with this is everyone gets the same amount of games (if not more) but in a season about 5/6 weeks shorter. Meaning a 15 week season rather than the curent 20 or so weeks.

Marc we talked about this on MSN last night (Blewy, Me, Si) and we said if it was run we would introduce another simmer ie Si who hasn't any leauges to run and he would take control of the whole comp, so current leauge simmers wouldn't have any additional work load.

The way it stands at the moment doesn't making the VB comp midweek cut the season from about 25 weeks to 20. There are still 10 OD and 10 4D matches per season run once a week.

20 weeks is fine for a season. That gives you about 2 seasons per year once trading and the draft are taken into account.

As for what to do with a midseason trading window. I think it would be alright. Allow one week break from matches to sort it out. As for the stats you would have 2 sets of stats. Add them together at the end of the season and adjust the files accordingly. I would be prepared to do that. the only problem is that for the second half of the season there wouldn't be an up to date set of averages. Marc may have another way around this problem.

not a good phrase on my part, sorry

what i mean is that if there is a trading period than any players who are in top form will lose it - its like starting from scratch again
