Ok I was thinking after giving Sriram his Mumbai squad for this season, that WCC is getting out of control and lossing all it's relisim season by season.

Ok last season's top two players by avgerage; T.Darden and B.Allen both hit runs for fun, they both ended up with like avg 70+ in both formats... therfore their avg have shot up big time. T.Darden's FD avg is now 74 (VC4 has edited it to 64, due to amount of games played), but if he destoryed all comers (Div 1 - The best league as well) with a extra 10 on his avg I dread to think what he will do this season, espically as the game is completly stats based.

It was shown last season that even being injuried for like 4 weeks he still hit well over 700 runs, and SA M.Jenkins hit 1097 runs in just 7 matches :O

What Iam trying to say is that with rookies coming in stright away with stats of like 64 batting avg in 2 - 3 seasons time we could have about 10 players all heading towards the 100 mark (plus whatever rookies appear with extra high avgerages as well)

But the only way to really counter this is for even better bolwers to flood the market, yet even at the very start of the draft there were only a couple that had really special avgerages, the only other way I can think is to enforce a cap on players avg

And before you start saying iam just moaning because I don't have these players / or iam not winning... remember I have my fair shear in B.Allen ( avg late 58 and 60 odd), Andy Flower's FD avg is up in the 50's area, and I've just signed Laxman @ 51-54 area.

I just think that if nothings done to combat this soon news teams just won't stand a hope in hell of catching up and it will become scorecards of 600/5 dec .... 555/8 dec ..... 345/4 - Match Drawn and just the relisim in general dissapearing for good, I mean in real life how many batsman have life avgerages of over 60... WCC already has 4 (Of the top of my head)

Anyone else agree that maybe things need to be done, to actually keep this a game rather than select 5 batsman and sit back and watch????

Batsman avg over 60 already, after just 2 season (in 3 cases 1 season and in 3 they haven't even played yet)

- M.Bevan
- T.Darden
- B.Allen
- M.Jenkins
- And 3 Rookies I can remember

+ Loads in the mid to high 50's

Well I see it as a distinct possibility, and if something isn't done to make sure it doesn't happen then we could end up with some unrealistic scores like Rich said any maybe some modern day Bradmans...

I'm all in favour of capping though :)

Let's make a decision at the end of the season. Let's take Jenkins as an example. If he averages 40 for the season, his average for next year will change back down to just over 60 because of the number of games he has played. It is a statistical based game and some guys have poorer seasons than their averages show. Just look at how S Tendulkar's average has gone down top about 40.

Let's just wait and see.

i agree no need to push the panic button but we should keep an eye on things

I believe it is getting out of hand, but i cant see a realistic solution to stopping it.
im not a whinger (all the time :P), but the whole point of introducing rookies was to give lower teams a chance to get a star as they didnt have the quality players to trade, but if the bigger teams have batsman with outrages averages theres simple no way the samller teams can compete.

The thing I've sort of worked out from the system of updating averages is that, the best will get better while the worst will get worse.

Bad news for Warwickshire then!

That theory is not true Muzza, as all a player has to do to get an average increase is have a better than average season....

So every player has just as much chance as each other...

I could be wrong, but I think that each new season will be a newly created file which means that form doesn't carry over. A player who was a raging success in one season could just as easily flop in the following season whereas a player who underperformed badly might become a superstar.
Each season is like a completely fresh start.

alright it is getting out of hand with people averaging way too much

creating players too much i reckon

the theory of the draft i thought was that everyone puts 6 players in and therefore at least the top teams will be putting good players in and bottom teams putting in crap players and the way it is the bottom teams will get those good players.
That will make it more even but if we keep on creating players then the top teams will keep on getting good players and then it is still uneven.

Those players left in the draft would be left for the top teams and therefore even it out.

Stop creating players i reckon

I agree. I think there were far too many rookies. You only really need at the most three academy sides. Six was far too many in my opinion. Each team should only be alocated 1 rookie during the season. Not two

I think what Rich brought up is extremely real !

And now Sri has Graham !! damn it whyd i do that move , its like no doubt they will get big scores now ,

well we just gotta sit back and watch the show and decide as time passes by

Well the teams that have the best players deserve to win, but we need some realism here.

I still think you're all panicking unnecessarily. See what happens this season first.
Also, it's a matter of fact that some teams will be better than others - that's life.
Managers can't acquire other teams stars without their manager agreeing to trade, so why slate astute managers for building stronger teams through trading.
Also, the draft will continue to even things out over a number of seasons.

i think that we should have NO ROOKIES THIS SEASON, and we should re evaluate after this season, depending on how players like Darden, Jenkins, Graham and Allen go
