You mean like having no average?
Lillee in West Indies during WSC: 23 wickets in 5 games @ 28.3, 1 5fer against Greenidge/Haynes/Viv/LloydFredericks.

what did Wasim average against England again? a much weaker batting lineup?

Last time I checked WSC are not tests.
last time I checked they were played in the tests format and had all the superstars of world cricket.

but I'm sure the pitches were altered to help Lillee in Windies, lol.

Still not tests. No one include the SAF-India banned 3rd test, although it was played in test format.

West Indies hammered Australia in 1979 and became number one in tests. They were in the ascendency since 1975/6 tour
1979 West Indies won their first test series in Australia. Before that they never won a series in Australia. So England was always their main rival.

Include the other test in 73 too. I think his average goes above 30.
If we're declaring Lillee in windies a failiure on the basis of one bad test in 73 in a runfest draw over his very good performance against ATG batting in 79 then we've a problem with the system

79 was a home series mate.

Lillee sucked on slower wickets. Deal with it.

Wasim in England is also not a failure.

But 23 wickets in 6 tests @30 odd isn't much better.

Two mixed records.

never said it's much better, I'm just saying there seems to be some awkward hypocrisy here, if Sri Lanka is a hole for Lillee, so is South Africa for Wasim. If West Indies is a hole for Lillee, so is England for Wasim.

He was concerned of diarrhea and did not tour India, which was one of the graveyards of fast bowling.
Was that the 1969 tour, 2 years before he debuted, or the 1979 tour when he was banned to play for Australia due WSC, or the 1986 tour 2 years after he retired. There were no other tours to India between 1965 and 1995

Lillee still doesn't have a reasonable sample in the entire SC.
