Warwickshire releases

International Captain
As the trading window comes closer to opening, Warwickshire have a few announcements to make.

The following players will be kept unless, we recieve a very good offer for them:

J.Lawson
S.Pollock
S.Sriram
D.Howrath (rookie)

The following players we would like to offer in return for another player of at least the same standard.

S.Jayasuriya
S.Fernando
T.Penney
A.Giles
M.Bulbeck
A.Giles

We haven't as yet decided which players will be among the 10 players we keep for next season, but the above nine (rookie excluded) look more than likely to be among that 10 (when must we annouce this 10?). If possible I would like to see how each individual has gone this season, in others words I would like to see my squads stats for this season.....

If your interested, tell me here in this very thread, on msn or PM me.

I thought I would mention I have only one A.Giles not two as stated in a previous post.

Fernando is an exciting opener that is full of life. Scores runs quickly and he often scores plenty. Although he is very unheard of in the world of WCC, it worth taking a look at these stats. In the four day game as well as an agreesive opening batsmen who averages 38, he doubles as a talented allrounder with a strike rate of 57. In comparison, Pollock averages 34 and also has a strike rate of 57. Yet he offers further more in the one day game. An average of 33 with the bat is backed up with strike of 38 with the ball. Again he beats Pollock. Have a look into this chap. He may well be the guy your after...

Jayasuriya is regarded as one of Sri Lanka's finest ever cricketers. He is an excellent batsmen as proven by some amazing batting feats throughout his career. He averages a solid 39 in the first class scene, while he averages in the mid to low thirties. He agressive nature is always handy at the start of an innings...

Again I would like to offer this super spinner (A.Giles) to anyone who has the right player for him. For those who can't be bothered looking at his stats, England's first choice spinner brings with him a strike rate of 31 balls per wicket in the one day game. There aren't much better than that...

Trevor Penney, being amazing like the likes of B.Allen, is very consistent. This season he has always been someone who I've been able to rely. He averages 39 in first class cricket and nearly 35 in the one day game. Again he would be a very valuable asset to have in your side...

Matthew Bulbeck is well regarded as one of the finest players ever in the International Cricket Captain series. Again he is ever capable with the ball and in often with the bat. He averages 25 with the ball in first class cricket and a very creditable 50 balls per wicket. He bring thing to a new level in the one day game with an amazing strike rate of 36 balls per wicket. A top allrounder, always on his game...

There are more in my squad and over the next few weeks feel free to to talk to me about any possible trades...

Only good in international cricket and not in WCCC.

pfffftttt.

Giles has a strike rate of 31 balls per wicket in one dayers in WCC. Jayasuriya averages 39 in the four day game. There can't be too much wrong with that.

I would just like to annouce that Warwickshire have added wicketkeeper S.Manjrekar to the transfer list. Although his average is exactly tops (26 in one day and 31 in four day), he has played some top innings this season including a 95 against the star studded Kent line up.

With Manjrekar being added to the transfer list its worth noting Warwickshire have decided to keep rookie keeper, Z.McDonald.

Despite finding your team easy to beat ;) there are some I may be interested in, but that woin't make a scrap of difference if there's no-one you want of mine - have a look and get back to me...

Sanath Jayasuriya has been traded to Auckland in return for Daniel (?) Anderson.

Matthew Bulbeck has been traded back to his old home and will represent Somerset next season. Andre Adams took this oppurtunity to link up with one of the few Kiwi managers in World Club Cricket. Hopefully more Black Caps can be lured to Warwickshire in the near future.

I must get rid of A.Giles and T.Penney before the draft. Both are good players. Giles has a stunning strike rate of 31 in the one day game. Penney has solid averages in both one and four day games.

Another player I would like to bring to everyones interest is S.Sriram. He has an average of 52 in the four day game and has been effective in the middle order. I am looking to trade him in return for another batsmen of the same standard.

The latest news to hit Warwickshireis the departure of M.Bulbeck. This talented allrounder heads back home to Somerset. In return Warwickshire have aquired Kiwi allrounder Andre Adams.

The other big news is the double trade involving Karachi. Warwickshire are happy to have aquired M.Hasnain and G.Ali to bolster the line up. Sadly allrounder S.Fernando and M.Wagh leave the team and head to Pakistan.

It has also been rumoured that Warwickshire are in negioations for a new Mascot. He is a bear and a famous one. No one is certain just who it is. We'll have to wait and see.
