Warne's best Australian ODI XI from the past 25 years

Warne's team looks good but it isn't hard to name a good XI from Australia given the success we've had.
Australia is a much more interesting pick than New Zealand. With New Zealand you have Guptill, Astle, Williamson, Crowe, Taylor, Hadlee, Bond and Boult as nailed on certainties, and probably Vettori too if you decide you need a spinner. For the Aussie team the only certain picks are McGrath, Gilchrist, Lee, Bevan and maybe Hussey/Ponting. Not even Warne qualifies because his ODI stats are such that Australia could easily find a more effective seamer.

It's funny cause usually when Warne does fantasy selection he forgets just that

Johnson probably the most inexplicable choice. He's not even the best Mitchell, let alone Bracken

Watson
Gilchrist
Ponting
Jones
Bevan
Symonds
Hussey
Lee
Brad Hogg
Stunning Straceh
McGrath

Quite different to the one I agreed with above, but lots to like about it. Especially Starc and Hayden (with that '07 caveat). Think you've overrated Martyn slightly though.

Hogg, Watson, Jones, Hayden, Martyn, Clarke, Starc all incredibly unlucky to miss out.

Mr. Glass
Mark Waugh stiff, but I rate Jones and Ponting higher than him (particularly as a middle order player) and I'm not wearing ten overs out of Symonds/MWaugh against the quality of opposition this side is likely to play against, so Watson has to play.
Mark Waugh averages around 35 in ODIs as a bowler. Picked him over Dean Jones since I thought the team needed another bowling option. 2 part timers in Symonds and Waugh instead of a single 5th bowler. Though now I am thinking Hussey at 4 and Steve Waugh at 5 might be a better option. Steve Waugh is a better bowler. And he would bat anywhere from 5-7 depending on the match situation. Bat him at 5 or 6 if there is a collapse to stabilize things and bat Symonds above him if its the death overs and the side needs quick runs.

Warne names his Test team..

WARNE'S GREATEST AUSTRALIAN TEST XI (since 1990)
Matthew Hayden, Michael Slater, Ricky Ponting, Mark Waugh, Michael Clarke, Alan Border (c), Adam Gilchrist, Mitchell Johnson, Shane Warne, Ryan Harris, Glenn McGrath

The keeping position was a really tough one as Ian Healy was comfortably the best keeper in my time from any country," Warne wrote on his Facebook page. "We have so much batting, did I need Gilly's batting? (That) was the question, (but) at the end of the day, I only just went with Gilly as his batting was insane."

Gilchrist adds to a batting line-up that starts with openers Matthew Hayden and Michael Slater, followed by Ricky Ponting, Mark Waugh, Michael Clarke and Border. Warne said the likes of David Boon, Damien Martyn, Michael Hussey and Steve Waugh were unlucky not to squeeze their way into the side.

The 45-year-old said he also found it difficult to name just four bowlers, with Bruce Reid, Brett Lee, Craig McDermott, Merv Hughes and Jason Gillespie missing the cut.

Did he only go through with this exercise to piss of Steve Waugh?
Came in to post this. Warne is a ****. Steve Waugh was in the top 3 batsmen in the world for a fairly significant part of the last twenty five yrs.
