Pretty much describes Gavaskar as a whole tbh.It was tasteless af.

Describes him as a batsman for surePretty much describes Gavaskar as a whole tbh.
Post WWThat's not decisive. Post the rankings of them as a batsman and a bowler.
ATG batsman.Describes him as a batsman for sure
I will say all but Sachin are debatable, though I will place Gavaskar behind allPost WW
Sachin. Smith. Sobers. Viv. Lara.
Only batsmen who are better than Sunny(imo)
The rest are debatable.
Marshall. Hadlee. McGrath. Ambrose. Steyn. Imran. Donald. Garner.
I am picking all of them over Warne.
I think the reporter certainly expected "Yes" to be the answer. It certainly was a very awkward tangent given Warne just passed away, should had just said something like "I will probably place a few ahead" or something really. But well, I won't make a fuss over it really, like I will do of his comments on David Hookes' death.

Don't think Gavaskar should have answered exactly in that manner, but why would someone ask that kind of question in a tribute to Warne? (specially when you pretty much know what he's gonna answer. Tbh, Gavaskar was just being honest, I'll give it to him)
This is very easy to do btw.It certainly was a very awkward tangent given Warne just passed away, should had just said something like "I will probably place a few ahead" or something really.
The reporter should have known better.I think the reporter certainly expected "Yes" to be the answer.
Is it a coincidence that both were openers?Gavaskar vs Boycott, whose worse?
is it a coincidence they're both also slow ass batters who also happen to be great friends? Is it a coincidence that both were openers?
Two great openersIs it a coincidence that both were openers?
Why?Over careers, I don't think there's much to separate Viv and Sunny. That pretty much covers it. After Don, it's Hobbs and Tendulkar; then Sobers, Lara, Smith, Hutton, Viv and Sunny.
Sunil Gavaskar saved a person from the riots. Yes he is outspoken, somewhat of a rebel and has some outdated ideas(he is 75 years) but not a bad person. And two great human beings.
Output. Peer ratings and All Time selections are extremely shitty metrics and being the best batsman over a period is arguably for many. Arguably Lara was never, as was Sobers'. Will you say they don't have a shot as well?? Ofcourse you wouldn't.Why?
Besides you saying so of course?
What puts Sunny into that group of the greatest batsmen ever?
Anecdotally? Peer rating? All time team selections? Being the best batsman batsman in the world over a prolonged period, or at all in this case?
What is the argument for Sunny being the best batsman ever bar Bradman.
And while you're at it, what makes Sachin better than the others? What makes him better than Viv, Sobers or Smith? Everyone else believes that it's a contest among equals.
Because at this point your only argument seems to be that they're from your fav country.
