Personally I don't see him missing a Test unless his arm falls off. He bowled plenty of marathon spells in last year's Ashes, and I see him as being possiblly the most motivated to win these Ashes considering how close he got to single-handedly winning them for Australia last time around.howardj said:Wouldn't be surprised if he missed a Test match through soreness though.
For sure. Let's not try to find an effective 3rd paceman, like in 2005. Not when someone with such a good Test record is waiting in the wings. For the record though, I think MacGill will struggle against this English side. But he has earnt selection, based on his record alone.FaaipDeOiad said:MacGill will either play in all three remaining tests or not until Sydney IMO, which might also have a bearing on Warne's wicket taking. I really think that after this test they'd be looking to draft MacGill in immediately, if it wasn't for the fact that such a move requires dropping one of the current seamers.
I certainly don't think he'll rip them apart, but on the face of it he's as likely to do damage as anyone, and facing quality spin from both ends is never easy. Leaving him out in Adelaide was a fair call, but the attack did struggle on the first two days, regardless of bad luck and the pitch and so on, and a change other than including Watson is warranted.howardj said:For sure.
