Another thing as well, is that the CWXI couldnt win a test series in bangladesh, but the colts thrashed the bangladeshis by an innings and 91 runs!!!!. These are supposed rookies??!?!?. There are atleast three keepers in that team, all of whom can bat exceptionallly, that they could even almost challenge cloete for stats. And these are their wicketkeepers. In all the new signups, there is not a single person who is just a batsman or just a bowler, im all for allrounders, but the stats that some people put up, like tharmi said, make them into stars, when they really are not stars IRL.
So someone gave you our simming stats, did they?

I think a lot of this comes down to the fact that a newcomer whose only post for a month is to sign up with Bradmanesque averages has no right whatsoever to shove the more experienced players around - who've played in the Dev League for every season since its inception, posted every other day and always kept interest in it - out of teams.

There is, and always has been a conveyor belt upwards into the CWXI that rewards sticking around for a long time period and being an active member. Basing it any more closely on real cricket abilities would take a lot of the fun out of it for a lot of us. Take Hakon for instance (sorry mate) - but his acquaintance with a cricket ball is so immensely limited (particularly amusing moments when me and Langeveldt introduced him to the nets at Exeter CC and he made the most horrific balls-up of having 11 year olds hit balls at him. The words "Ashish" and "Nehra" don't even remotely cover it.

Stick around. Go through the embarrassing stuffings, the woeful captaincy of setting Bangladesh 700 in two sessions and wondering why you didn't win and why the senior players are screaming for your reproductive organs on a barbeque, the nightmare of a World Cup final implosion, the rebellions, the players' strikes. Immersion takes time, and when you get there you'll see where I'm coming from.

nope, nobody gave them to me, all im going from is the signups they did, if you feel aggrieved by my post, feel free to ignore it. My brother is playing in the colts, so vic, i dont mean to insult the colts, at all, but woudlnt you say that, the level at which people are signing up has gone up a bit?. I guess i was blowing my mouth off, and apologise to everyone for that.:unsure::unsure::(:(:(:(

Burke signed up with an average of 22 and Mamesh was 42. Considering rookie adjustments are made, neither is anywhere near challenging Cloete for anything but pride.

Regarding Jasotharan, he did sign up with a 50podd average, but consider two things:

1. There are wicketkeepers who can bat that well.
2. His average is drastically reduced due to rookie adjustments. The maximum limit for a rookie signup average is 45, so his 50podd is reduced to 45 before rookie adjustments are even made on it.

Three players signed up with bowling averages over 50. I think it's safe to assume that they're specialist bats.
Cool, liam, thanks for clearing up that for me. Ill refrain from making such comments in the future.

Can I ask the following questions:

1) What's our win-rate in Tests simmed by Liam?
2) What's our win-rate in Tests simmed by Reuben?
3) Who's simming the series against England and Sri Lanka?

i think any player who's out of form for an extended period of time shouldn't be in the national side. he should get back in form in the DV league and earn his spot back.

Some of you guys don't know this but Toogood and I got called up to the CWXI after our rookie seasons. Our averages were pretty normal entering the season because of rookie adjustments. Had a little stint with the A Team and made senior debuts.Apart from a few exceptions, we were miles ahead of you new guys even though same rules applied mostly. Some of the senior players in question performed reasonably well in previous series or season so I'm in agreement with sticking with them. There is a limit though.
