I think Viv's away record is a lot better when it comes to batting against ATG pacers, and think Sunny had some visible flaws against pace. btw my vote of it not being close isn't on their output but moreso on their placement in my all time top 25 batters, I've Viv in top 5 and Gavaskar in top 15
top 5 and top 15 is close even if you believe that difference (which I think is a unfair to Sunny who I despise btw)

that’s like saying it’s not close betweenSachin and Pointing and it’sdamn close between the two

Depends what we mean by not close. Maybe not a huge difference in output but a clear distinction that Tendulkar is better.

yes much of this board’s views on matters come down to semantics. I agree with what you say here but I’d considerit close. Tendulkar vs say Kohli or Inzamam isn’t close

Sachin vs Kohli isn’t close

Sachin vs Kallis or Ponting is close
"Close" is really a very subjective term and may vary person to person. With Ponting yes, but for Kallis as batsmen, I don't think the top tier of Sachin, Hobbs, Lara, Sobers Richards etc are close. As a cricketer, he is better/close to most of them

Any reasons why you think Kallis is “far” behind Ponting?

Don’t say boring 😂

Interesting..... I would say Kallis is closer to Sachin than Ponting is.
