Victor Trumper---the unsung Hero.

Beleg

International Regular
I have always been a Victor Trumper fan. He is generally regarded as the best pre-Don Aussie batsman.
Any other fans or folks who admire him?

Swervy

International Captain
by all accounts he was a great player...but he is a strange player to be a fan of..i mean, there are only som many black and white pic or stats you can look at of a man that was around 100years ago

Given what we know about conditions in the 1900s, Trumper's record is phenominal.
In the Hobbs-and-the-like mould IMO.

Armadillo

State Vice-Captain
His average wasnt too impressive but he was a bloody good batsman on the minefields they had to bat on back then.

His average mightn't have been impressive by today's standards but it's very impressive bearing in mind what you mentioned.
