Changes: Head makes way for Supple.
A disciplined bowling effort, was somewhat thwarted by the innings of Dippenaar, and some late runs from Boyce. Razzak and Sherbourne were both excellent.
A wonderful captain's knock that lasted for the best part of a day saw Derby's take a lead. Support came from Katich and Khalid, as things swayed in our favour.
What followed was a very poor bowling display, which saw our two main strike bowlers Jones and Sherbourne leak runs everywhere. It was only thanks to the efforts of Hopps and, especially, Razzak, that we were in a position to chase anything.
Supple and Pearson started off the innings in good fashion, but after the dismissal of the former, things started to slow down. Just before tea, the two in batsmen (Pearson and Nethercott were dismissed) leaving us with 6 wickets in hand to chase down 128, with the pitch providing plenty for the bowlers.
