Facing a easy chase Warwickshire lost the plot going from 2/53 to 9/73. Still needing 34, Warwickshire seemed out the match. Chapple joined Manjrekar at the crease. The pair then went onto put on a remarkable 34 run stand to see Warickshire home.
Chapple shoulv've been further up the order in all honesty, but well fluked!

Well slats4ever summed most of it up , the scorecard was really even , and i was shaking for most of the game , the last ball however changed it all , i think this is one of the best Wcc games for a VB cup match , Sunil Joshi and Harris with their slow bowling really kept my batsmen tight and i was going down when my last man hit 34 when he avgs around 5... so its a wonder what a change in averages can do !

For Rich from my bro

He said " Lol :P told you , you didnt need Graham , poor g.b he never had a chance   congrats mate "

The Glamorgan side delivered a thumping 24 run win over Somerset in the 1st round of the VB Cup.

Glamorgan scored 130 batting first with Klusener and Hemp scoring 29 each. Adams was the best of the bowlers with 2/20.

Somerset was cruising to victory at 5/96 but they then lost 5/10 to lose the match. Kulatunga topscored with 40 and Wasim akram took 4/13 off his 2 overs.

VB CUP: Kent vs SA @ Yorks

Well the Kent manager wasn't expecting anything from the game if he is honest, but what he saw was anything but the plan script.

Kent won the toss and elected to bat, and things didn't go great all day, but they did just enough to hang on.

Batting first A.Flower continued his good run of form with a quickfire 32. However his opening partner D.Marsh was quickly dismissed after being promoted up the order in search of quick runs. Things got a whole lot worse for Kent in the next few overs with both Allen 13 (13) and Waugh 6 (11) being removed in quick time, with the score on 3/59 and all the batsman out bar Flower, Kent looked in deep trouble. However what was to come was a mind blowing, spin bowler G.Batty hit a super 54 (43) and that's his 2nd 50 in a row in OD matches... (iam just going to play bowlers in my games now) In the mean time A.Flower was dismissed in a formidable spell of bowling from R Stratton. And yet another bowler (N.Smith) came to Kent's aid with a run a ball 24. Then the next four bowlers all hit over a run a ball to add a very useful 30 runs which basly gave Kent a decent total for the bowlers to bowl at.

169/8 (25 Overs) looked to be a very good total when Kent were 64/4, the 4 out were the only batsman playing!

G.Batty - 54 (43)
A.Flower - 32 (33)
N.Smith - 24 (24)

M.Harrity: 5 - 0 - 27 - 2
M.Smith: 4 - 0 - 27 - 2
R Stratton:2 - 1 - 6 - 1

However after all Kent's hard work in the field looked to be in vain when the SA batsman got stuck into the Kent bowling, even M.Saggers dismissing opener VVS Laxman for a golden duck in the first over. D.Lehmann 55 (36) & M Jenkins 48 (32) looked to be in cruise control, but H.Singh acounted for Jenkins and even a step up in the pace of Lehmanns inngs' couldn't save what was about to happen, the man of the momment G.Batty steped up to remove the evil D.Lehmann. And the Singh & Batty countinued to remove the heart of the SA middle order. To make matters worse for SA, N.Smith bowled 2 overs for no runs, with the pressure mounting on the remaining batsman, One of the Kent batsman (S.Waugh) returned the debt to the bowlers with a wicket to all but confirm the result. Kumble was then removed in S.Hutton's first over and Kent wrapped up 33 run victory, over one of the title favourite's.

M Jenkins - 48 (32)
D.Lehmann - 55 (36)

S Hutton 1 0 6 1
M.Saggers 4 1 36 2
M.McCague 2 0 21 0
H.Singh 5 1 28 3
G.Batty 5 1 27 2
N.Smith 2 2 0 0
S.Waugh 2 0 10 1

Kent won by 33 runs
Man of the match is G.Batty
