Good point, see Jamieson has been dropped for Waggers. Not sure why they didn't drop Tickner instead, but would have to think Wagner will be playing the tests. Wonder if he's going to stick to his body line 125km bouncers on these slow pitches.

we should never drop wagner away from home. we don't need two bad spinners to release all the pressure, just pick one of ish or astle and use them as best as we can.

9. Wagner

Problem solved.

Good for Raval to get a score.

Going to be another draw, I'd suggest they try to bat the whole day tomorrow, so that Wagner doesn't get over-worked bowling in the second innings.

I think A Tests also need to be over 5 days. Just isn't enough intensity to replicate test cricket if the pitch is even slightly OK for batting. It's just slightly better skilled declaration cricket.

18.3 W Ravindra to Mohammad Saad, OUT, thick outside edge, an easy catch for the fielder at first slip
Mohammad Saad c Raval b Ravindra 17 (42b 2x4 0x6) SR: 40.47

Is there anything that will preclude Ravindra from matching a specialist spinner's revs and getting good angle of spin with this action, you think Cribb?

I know when he was younger this didn't look very likely at all, but obvs he's now trying to get more over the top of it.

It's hard to see what his release is like without a better/closer angle, but everything else is more or less perfect there. In the World Cup games I watched his front arm was still a bit lazy sometimes, but it's fine there.

Looks like A had some nervous moments. Boys must have had enough and wanted to get on the flight home. It's been a long tour. Great to see Ravindra batted out the last session. Hoping for big things from him after this, no pressure. Haven't been this excited about a young talent since... Never mind :-)

Overall has to have been a great experience for the A players - I hope they all got a lot out of it. A handful must have moved themselves closer to playing for NZ too - Young, Ravindra, Jamieson, maybe Kuggeleijn and Tickner.

Quietly a decent tour for Ravindra all considering being 19 with no FC and List A experience. Particulary important for New Zealand's batting future.

The more options the better and this tour could also have been the making of Will Young. With those 2 , Phillips , Seifert & Allen you need those boys to be the future.

Didn't realise the A side has another series against India in a few days. I'd be throwing Ravindra, Young, Seifert, Phillips, etc. in there again for sure. And honestly, Finn Allen as well. He's had a rough time of it for the Aces but chuck him in at no. 6 and give him a go.

1. George Worker (ehhh)
2. Rachin Ravindra
3. Tim Seifert
4. Will Young
5. Glenn Phillips
6. Jimmy Neesham
7. Dane Cleaver
8. Scott Kuggelijin
9. Adam.Milne
10. Ben Wheeler
11. Lockie Ferguson

Would be cool to see, bar George Worker obviously. No doubt Larsen will throw a few curve balls and we’ll see the likes of Greg Hay, Michael Bracewell, Seth Rance, some random club spinner, and Hamish Rutherford.

it's criminal worker is closer to the test team than hay

other than that i'd swap out milne for jamieson and phillips for allen in your team. im not a phillips believer.

Phillps is probably the most talented batsman we’ve had come through the ranks since those 2008 and 2010 Under 19 World Cup teams. If he hadn’t played for New Zealand yet he’d be getting some massive hype. He’ll score a lot of runs for New Zealand over the next 15 years. Needs more first class cricket though.
