out with a southerner and in with a Lancashire lad, Hobbs may be an all time great but a plethora of openers leaves an opportunity for the Lancastrian to come in and bolster the middle order.

Paynter might not like that, he told me he only likes batting at 3 and 5. When i told him he might open, he told me he wanted to go home.

Also Gavaskar has a decent record at 4-6, but i guess i don't have Paynter anymore, so no need for me to keep him happy.

yeah but the sim won't know that Gavaskar has a decent 4-6 record it'll just give him one position - opener so i will have to try and put people in the positions they played in most often

BTW are we having pre-season games so we can have a look at a couple of the players that are border line for selections and so we can test tactics. Or are we going to go straight into the season and Test these things on the run?

well i'm doing a bit of testing with my team in the sim ( i assume we are using ITC) so i'm hoping we can chage our ground conditions
