Australia did lose their rag against NZ in the opening game after they had control for 75% of the match, but they were woeful against South Africa on Sunday, I was there at the MCG for both matches and I can't believe they are using the excuse that they have had little ODI practise when both NZ and S.A have had little as well.

As for the Hobart match, NZ would have probably won the match if it had not been for the umpiring blunder..the difference between chasing a score of 250 and 230 is a huge psycological barrier and I don't think NZ would have panicked like they did.

It is unbelievable that people think Andrew Symonds is a better all-rounder than Cairns & Pollock, Symonds pretty much concluded on Sunday that he is one of the worst with some poor batting & bowling. He is a highly rated fielder but thats pretty much where it ends in my opinion.

Andrew Symonds is way better all-rounder than Cairns and Pollock. He just needs to get use to international cricket again. Anyway look at Michael Bevan.

Symonds has played..what? 45 matches and averages 22 and has an o.k bowling average, so its not strange either that he doesn't even feature in the all-rounder rankings in the top 10.

Its hard to say whether you can call Bevan an all-rounder or not, he's not as good in the field as he used to be, and he doesn't bowl that much anymore, I think you have to call him a batsman now.

Cairns, Kallis and Pollock are easily the best all-rounders going at the moment.
Klusener is losing his touch I believe, he definately can't bowl like he used too.

Eclipse

Symonds could be better than cairns if he can improve his bowling because he is a much better batsman with a FC avrage of 42 and a good batting conversion rate of somthing like 20 hundreds and 20 fifties apart from this he is one of the best feilders in the world.

yeah and he is only like 26,27? and he is undoubtley the cleanest hitter in the game

if hes got so higher ave eclipse and aggressive y isnt he in one of ur icc sides :D

I have seen Symonds FC averages and he is very good, but the problem is is that he has been mucked & messed around by the Australian team and it is doubtful that he will become the worlds best all-rounder as he is continuously in & out of the side.

Maybe once the Waugh brothers & co retire after the World Cup he will get a lengthy run unless some other new faces show up.
