Kohli's record since the last WC is ****ing insane

Batting records | One-Day Internationals | Cricinfo Statsguru | ESPNcricinfo

And all of the matches were against the top 10 teams
Thank u for pointing that out. I was following his innings today and some stupid troll pointed out that he's made something like 17 vs weak teams ie wi, sl , ban etc. and that srt faced far tougher opposition. No doubt srt played in a tougher time in odis but kohli has an excellent record in odis vs all comers. He bashes minnows as much as he bashes stronger teams wag!!

His lowest average in the period is against Bangladesh
Just like Smith in tests!

Really it's obscene that 14batsmen are averaging over 50 in the last 3 years and 11 of them are striking at 90+.

Something needs to be done to reign in the ridiculous scores and give the bowling something to work with.

Atleast in tests, we've had some good bat v ball contests in the last few years (apart from some Australia home games). Most of the runs Kohli and Smith have scored overseas have been in very tough conditions (Smith in India, Kohli in SA/Eng) which is what makes this current peak of theirs so remarkable.

Yeah the test match arena right now is quite competitive and interesting. ODIs are just mindless run fests.

Funnily enough in Tests I feel like it's going the other way, though that is more because batting standards are really low rather than pitches becoming too bowler-friendly.

ODI's lack a soul, as things stand they're basically a longer version of T20's.

No record has been broken yet but Botswana have the 53 year old James Moses opening their bowling James Moses | Cricket Players and Officials | ESPNcricinfo

Assuming that this guy decides to play in the WT20 regional finals next year and ICC dont renege on their promise of giving all of those matches full international status, Rhodes will lose his nearly 90 year old record of the being the oldest man to play an international match

Of course it's possible that there will be some other 50 year old playing too and it wont be Moses who breaks the record

Despite those eye popping figures, Kohli is only 6th on the list of best ever ODI ratings: ICC Player Rankings
Wow didn't realize Lara got that high. Shame his career failed off so badly at the end. Still an odi great imo but he could've been spoken about in the same breath as the sachins and devilliers.

Some of the older ratings make no sense. Point in case, Wessels. 14th best ever. In the middle of what may be the worst series any batsman has had ever. His stats are dire, but they dont even begin to express how poor he was. He had one excellent game, scoring 82 in a winning chase of 240.

In the other 12 games his impact ranged between 0 and profoundly negative. In two of the 12 games he didnt get a chance to bat- dropped to the bottom of the order due to scoring rate. AUS posted nearly 300 in these games on average, against about 220 when he did bat.

In the games he batted, AUS lost all of them in which he reached double figures except for 1. He made 11(50), which didn't help matters, but the rest of the team going at nearly 6 got them a good score.

In the games in which he got out for single figures, AUS only lost one. His 1(20) didn't help.

His worst effort was his highest score of 63 (133) out of a team total of 200-5. AUS posted a total 9 times in the series. They weren't bowled out in under 50 overs in any of them. Their lowest successful defence was 247 indicating a run rate of 5 would be required in order to have a hope of being competitive. Wessels did not come close to achieving this in any game, and managed about half of it when setting, but used up over 10 overs per game on average.

His highest rating came in the 7th game after his 84.

The previous 6 games had seen 5 losses. In the only won game he scored 1.In one loss he had gone out for 21 in a chase, leaving the tailenders with an impossible task. All of the others had been setting a total, and he had faced at least 50 balls at a dire strikerate to post totals that weren't defendable.

He managed 38 runs in the final 6 games of the series at a strike rate just over 30, but his contribution was far more positive than in the first 6, where he averaged 32, because at least he got out the way.

And that's a higher ranking than Rohit, averaging over 100 and striking at over 100 over the last few series, and getting progressively better with each one.

Mushifiqur Rahim's 219*, aside from being the highest test score by a Bangladesh player, makes him the first test player to score two double centuries whilst playing as a wicket-keeper.

Not true because McCullum and Sangakara also keep wickets while scores more than even 2 double and triple century but I still need to ask Stevens of cricinfo.

SanGa is next to Don Bradman with 11 DBl while BaZ too 4 DBl and triple once

Of those, only one of Sanga's doubles came in a match where he kept wicket

Apparently Deandra Dottin is the first ever cricketer -male or female- to have a T20I century and five wicket haul.
