Clearly I'm such a star that even when I opt out of a contract I'm still winning MoMs. ;)

It's all good. Bring on the season. :)

Ah yes, the starpower shines through. I knew it was smart to turn up to water service in full kit. :)

Watch out world, soon I'll be at Beckham level... then I might start concentrating on my football at some point.

Webbers fight unlucky against Vitesse

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Webbers FC were unlucky last night against Vitesse in a game where they again showed they have what it takes...
Although the end result ended at 2-1 Webbers challenged Vitesse all night...
They were down after 5 minutes when Vitesse caught the defence napping on a quick counter-attack, and on 15 minutes where down 2 nil when again a quick turn-around caught them napping and the Amoah chipped Cbuts to make it 2 nil...

However the Webbers kept fighting and in the 77th minute got themselves back in it when a long throw from Xavier Rose found DJellett who headed it home...
Despite a couple of late chances the Webbers couldn't get the equaliser..

Some impressive performances, especially from Man of the Match Mr Wright, Nnanden, Xavier and Cbuts...

Webbers Reserves down again

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Reserves last match of the Aussie tour didn't go as would have hoped...

A final chance for the boys to push for claims in the top side didn't go to plan as the lions defeated a average Webbers 1 nil..
The Webbers never looked like scoring and although the defence was relativley strong the goal was a little weak...

One last friendly from the Main side against KV Mechelen before the season gets underway..

Webbers let win slip from grasp

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Webbers FC let a certain victory slip from their grasp today agianst Belgian side KV Mechelen...
Leading 1 nil with only 15 minutes to go, the Webbers after making 11 substitutes let in 2 goals in 3 minutes to surrender defeat..
It seemed when the starting side come off the field, the organisation went out the window...
To compound the issue left midfielder Broncoman picked up an injury.. Further tests will see if he will miss any games..

This was the Webbers last warm-up match before the season and they now will have to lift after a few defeats...

Webbers Start season on fire

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Webbers started their innaugural season with a Bang!!
At home against Boston Utd in front of a crowd of almost 35000 the Webbers showed why they have been made Favourites for promotion...
The skipper Blewy had the honour of being the 1st to score a league goal for the Webbers with a cracking long range shot on 16 minutes...
Boston held strong but that was mainly due to their keeper who managed to save some brilliant Webbers shots...

Then on 79 minutes after having 3 attempts in the 4 minutes prior Bugssy hit a cracking long range effort to seal the win, 2 nil..

Overall a dominating performance to start the season, If all goes like this all season then the Webbers will be right in amongst it...

Webbers Reserves Show Class as they Kick ARSEnal

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Webbers Reserves showed grit, determination and class today as they disposed of a Arsenal Reserves side containing some of the best players in the World...
Arsenal playing, Thierry Henry, Sol Campbell, Gilberto, Dennis Bergkamp and others were just outplayed by the less fancied Webbers in the final friendly before the Reserves Season opener..

Scoring 1st after 25 minutes through Dark Hunter, the Webbers were on a high, but only 11 minutes later they were behind after goals to Bailey and Bentley..
However playing out of their skins the Webbers kept coming and on 53 minutes were rewarded when Haffy leveled...
Then with 20 minutes left, Ash Chaulk, returning from Injury got the winner...
Webbers 3 Arsenal 2...

The defence deserves full credit with Henry playing 60 odd minutes and not even getting a shot on goal...

Webbers go 2 from 2

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Webbers made it 2 from 2 today as they defeated Macclesfield...
The Webbers controlled the game from the outset..
Getting off to a perfect start when Djellett scored the opener only 4 minutes in..

The Webbers doubled their lead when Blewy got his 2nd for the season after 29 minutes...
To Macclesfield's credit they held strong and didn't give up..

On 80 minutes Blewy looked to have scored a double however referee Kevin Nind ruled DJellett offside and the goal was dissallowed...

The side looks to be gelling perfectly and if they keep like this then it will be a very good ride through the season...
