The most underated players

I still say Mark Eahlam is the most underrated cricketer ever. He was a better bowler than most gave him credit for and could hit the ball pretty sweetly.

when i think of a keeper batsmen the only 2 i think of is gilchrist and boucher. because they play for high profile sides. zimbabwee needs more advertisment. they hardly tour any of the quality cricketing countries. and when they do its only for 1 day series.

how come no1 thinks of neil mckenzie?
Who? :D

Yeah I know who he is, before anyone starts. And I thought before being underrated, you had to be rated in the first place...

(Don't answer that, as there are plenty of technicalities you could fault it on)...

Chris Read of Nottinghamshire. Top wicketkeeper. Beats fogey Stewart and kid Foster any day of the week.

For NZ's case probably Shane Thomson, who was pretty good. Unfortunately he played during that period where NZ was in an utter shambles 1994 until 1997.

If he was playing for NZ now he would have been a very handy player indeed.

Ramnaresh Sarwan and Ian Bell are two fine young players. Both are destined for greatness. Sarwan is perhaps the most underated player in the world. There's so much hype about Bell (understandably) and yet Sarwan is surely as good as or (dare I say) better.

If Bell breaks into Test Cricket like Sarwan seems to have done, I for one will be shocked, Sarwan's record is exceptional for one so young.

Bell is good. I watched him play Notts the other week and although he only got 14 in a one-day match, I can see him playing Tests for England. He bats like Mike Atherton (no, not crap, I mean when Atherton was good), and we need somebody now who can stay in for a long time. Sarwan should have got a century by now though, if he is that good.
