The most indispensible player in the world

deeps

International 12th Man
gilly is a once in a lifetime player. An excellent wicketkeeper.... YES, he is now an excellent wicket keeper.. when he first started playing international cricket he was not that spectacular, but now he's nothin short of brilliant. People are still rememberin the mistakes he used to make.

My vote is to gilly

Regarding shoaib, yes, attitudes can be changed, BUT you cannot give some1 with no heart, a heart. He bowls for personaly glory and attention. He thinks he's the best, he wants the respect for being the best and when he starts getting hit a little, he practically gives up.

i would pick a bowler like rana, who hasn't got anywhere near as much potential as shoaib, due to the fact that his attitude is so great. He will never stop trying. Afridi is another who simply doesn't give up. That is very important in a cricketer, and is something shoaib is heavily lacking

Deja moo

International Captain
Imran Khan ( coz he made them the side they are since the 90s...leading them, singlehandedly picking up Wasim and Waqar from obscurity etc.)

Kumble ( Single biggest match winner for India in history. period. )

Kallis/Pollock ( SA would have been nowhere near where they were without these two. )

McGrath ( without him, Australias winning percentage would drop 10 points IMO. )

Flintoff ( look what happened in SA in the ODIs. )

Andy Flower ( classy and as good as Gilchrist in his own way.)

Hadlee, Murali, Lara are self explanatory.

Come on Liam he is the best thing out of Kenya!
Respectfully speaking, are you insane?!

Collins Obuya

Then theres...

Steve Tikolo
Maurice Odumbe
Ravindu Shah

You, like many others, seem to be blinded by Obuya's 5/24. He averages 55.05 otherwise, with an economy rate of 5.19. In non-internationals he has an economy rate of 5.30.

He's taken 5 of his wickets against Zimbabwe and another 7 of them against Sri Lanka. Aside from those 4 matches, he has taken just 13 wickets in 24 matches at an average of 76.92 and an economy rate of 5.49.

Say what?

ITs Shane Bond for me as well. If he was back nz would bne a whole different team if he was back and at his best.
Ponting could be his bunny again.

International Vice-Captain
Australia - Definately McGrath.
When he's out've the team the other players seem to drop off a level and the Aussies are nowhere near the team they normally would be.

Pakistan - Shoaib Akhtar
He makes the **** bowling attack look ten times more dangerous and helps add the magic they need to play well.

India - Kumble
He is basically the only real world class force in the indian bowling side with the rest being poor. They need him firing and then the others go to.

New Zealand - Stephen Fleming
Out've all the teams in the world none rely more on their captain for leadership than NZ.When he's playing well and batting with confidence the cricketing minnows rise up.

England - Steve Harmison
They look so much more formidable when he's bowling well

West Indies - Lara
Need i say more than what's been said

Sri Lanka - Muralitharan
Although they play well when he's away, to consistantly be a force he needs to be around or they'll become inconsistant like poor old Pakistan

South Africa - Dunno haven't seen them for a while

i didn't mean that in the term in that context... i think NZ are a great team and if u woulda read my previous posts on who i think are the second best test team in the world you'll understand i think very highly of NZ cricket.

what i'm saying is that NZ is a star team rather than a team of stars which is good... but without leadership from Fleming the star team really struggles to form
