The Michael Clarke appreciation thread

Except he hasn't shown any continued class in ODIs for ages, and has never shown any real class in T20s.

International Vice-Captain
As this is the Michael Clarke appreciation thread:

Captaincy Record: 10 Wins, 1 Tie, 1 NR, 0 Losses.

Quite an impressive record. In summary, Michael Clarke as captain = Win.

The Wheel is Forever
Michael Clarke single handedly teaching his bowlers to bowl short at cowering Indian batsmen. Without Clarke, it'd all be volleys on their pads.

WAG.

Have no issue with his captaincy tbf, think he's actually not bad from what I've seen, and he's obviously very good in the field and a handy bowler. It's just his batting that I take issue with, especially given that it's what he's meant to be doing in the team.

Basically this but while he has the common sense to drop himself down when need be I'm not nearly as concerned as I would otherwise be.

As if we need manipulations of statistics to know Clarke ain't much of a T20 player! In his favour, he knows when to take a back step and let the good batters go for it.

The skipper has been batting at No.3 or No.4 in four matches but in a Super Eights clash with India in Barbados on May 7, Clarke controversially dropped himself down the order and didn't bat at all as Australia made 5-184 then bowled India out for 135.

There was nothing controversial about it.
