I blame those making the video. Let the guys hate each other in their own spaces if they want without making a show about it.

I'd like to think they went to the bar and had a beer after that and a laugh about the ridiculous amount they were paid to do it, but in truth I suspect not

Have read a number of versions of the incident over the years, and doubtless memories have dimmed and positions have become entrenched, but Chappelli's account seems the more credible one to me

Botham has been an oddly contradictory character, both loutish and generous.

He professes to dislike Australia and her cricketers, once describing both as big and empty, yet is a UK government trade ambassador to the country.

When asked to rank the so-called Fab Four in order, he placed Steve Smith last "by a distance". Yet he claims Lillee was the best bowler he ever faced, and he was good mates with Warne.

After his famous spat with Ian Chappell, Botham bowled a deliberate slow long-hop to brother Greg towards the end of a match to try and help him to a century.

A supremely confident cricketer, he is almost shy when reminded of his playing days and invariably changes the subject, unlike Gower who loves talking about himself.

As a pundit Ian Chappell is comfortably ahead.

So basically an annoying asshole with a few redeeming qualities, i guess.

Not surprised Botham took part but surprised Chappell did.

Basically it all comes down to that confrontation in North Melbourne in 1977 where there were significantly diverging views on what happened (Chappell's story is the one more believable to me). There's too much at stake now to admit they've been lying all this years, hence it won't get resolved.

Watched this whole special the other week, was good fun.

Many successful sportspeople hold grudges long after a normal person would move on. And many tend to take everything personally and use it to motivate themselves. Look at the Jordan documentary. It may help them to be successful in their career but it also leads to situations like this, two old men who make fools of themselves in the media ranting about how much they hate each other.

It’s weird it usually seems like it’s famous people who can’t get over grudges. No joke normal
Blokes like ourselves get over that stuff in two weeks
