The legacy of Steve Smith

Curious to know if any other team has had the absolute undisputed best batsman and best bowler in the same team. For me Smith and Cummins are the absolute best in the business.

Whatever it takes!!!
Good shout but neither were ever the undisputed best. Maybe Ponting and McGrath in the 2000s?
I think they were the best for a period each but I guess the time Sanga was best in the world as a bat would be after Ponting's decline by when Murali had retired.

Ambrose and Lara?

Be a decent argument for Lillee and G Chappell around 74/75 but I don’t think Chappell was that clear cut as the best around that time in tests as Smith is now

I just remembered the likes of Waqar and Wasim so idk...
TBF, Imran and Miandad could also be a shout. I wonder if Steyn and Kallis or Steyn and Graeme Smith may also be worth a mention here.

Anderson and Root in the pandemic years too, probably.

There would have been a time post-2017 when Kohli and Ashwin would have qualified wouldn’t they?

nah Ashwin was never the best bowler in that time had too many questions over his SENA form and was only starting to answer them from that time
