In that case the 6th spot should go to Imran because none of those specialist batsman bowl (I don't think that Sehwag's offies count). The team would be very much confined to a 4-man attack and therefore disadvantaged relative to the other ATG teams.Gavaskar
Sehwag
Dravid
Sachin
Miandad
These are confirmed so far, and there is a tie between Imran and Inzamam for the 6th spot from what I counted.
I really good batsman-keeper, Kapil Dev, or both.can I change my vote for Azhar and vote Inzi?
I really don't see how an SC XI will survive against a good quality opposition with only 5 frontline batsmen?
awtaThere's no way you could leave Waqar out.
I'd rather Waqar in than Kapil, with Imran down at 7 or 8, and the attack being
Wasim
Waqar
Imran
Spinner
Will change my vote for #6 from Imran to Inzamam
I agree. Your option 4 is the most balanced team. You've got the 3 'must have' fast-bowlers, 2 contrasting spinners, the best keeper to come out of Asia, and excellent batting depth. Still miss Kapil Dev though. Legend. It seems we have these options available now-
1. Sunil Gavaskar
2. Virender Sehwag
3. Rahul Dravid
4. Sachin Tendulkar
5. Javed Miandad
6. Imran Khan / Inzamam / Imran / Mushtaq
7. Kapil Dev / Imran Khan / Engineer / Imran
8. Syed Kirmani / Syed Kirmani / Wasim / Kirmani
9. Wasim Akram / Wasim / Waqar / Wasim
10. Waqar Younis / Waqar / A Spinner / Waqar
11. A Spinner / A Spinner / 2nd Spinner / A Spinner
For first option, along with Imran, Wasim and Waqar, Kapil's addition is a bit overkill for me. For second option, fifth bowler is an issue. For third option, there is not much batting depth in the line up although bowling combination is great with frontline 3 pace and 2 spin options. Fourth option is the best combination because the team has got everything and can't find any weakness there. Just my two cents.
