Sorted out the errors, all were in Corrin's lot itbt, never let a drunk man handle numbers.
CW Green vs Ireland
CW Green recently spent a fun weekend over on the Emerald Isle, with two games of cricket interlaced with some heavy drinking, general moaning about the high prices and some minor tourism. The plan was to play Ireland first of all with a provisional 1st XI on the Saturday and then include those that hadn't played on the Saturday into a 2nds team to play on the Sunday.
Saturday:
A solid win, even if the chase was slightly trickier than it needed to be. Scott and Gonzalez starting off the season with 157 each to set an imposing 485ao. Ireland were quite comfortable at 213-3 at the start of their first innings, before Forner obliterated the middle order taking 3 wickets and with Rose mopping up the last 3 to take a 5fer. Ireland collapsed to 310. Ireland were promptly asked to follow on, struggling from the off at 134-5 with 2 top of the order wickets coming from captain Mitchell. After a solid 6th wicket partnership of 99, Ireland again collapsed, Forner taking 2 late order wickets and Manju wrapping up the last 2. Set 95 to win, Green struggled at 10-3 and then 28-4 before Corrin hit an unbeaten 51 to steer us home.
Sunday:
Malone had flown out late and Gundry was strangely absent, but the team that took on Ireland the following day was all change, bar the inclusion of Gonzalez. Ireland batted first and hit a strong 373ao, E McNamara the pick of the bowlers taking 5-89, new rookie Dinnen took a solid 3-71 in his first match of any sort for Green. Unfortunately Green's batting was poor, only hitting 176, Gonzalez the pick with 52. Asked to follow on, Green hit a marginally better 206, (Read 43, Raftery 38) which saw them just scrape past an innings defeat. Instead, set 10 to win, Ireland polished them off easily enough for a 10 wicket win.
